If you are a movie buff this is a must but I would advise watching The Quiet Man once again before you do this tour.

While looking for things to do during a trip to Ireland, and being a fan of the movie, I was excited to find the Quiet Man Museum and was delighted to find that we could book a private tour. I contacted Lisa and we easily made the arrangements by email for the 4-hour tour.

Lisa is an amazing tour guide and a wonderful storyteller! She was a font of information about the movie, and the filming in Cong and the surrounding counties, and she had wonderful behind-the-scenes stories to tell about the local families--including her own, that were involved in the filming.

Even if you are not familiar with the film (in which case you should go watch it right now!) you will enjoy this tour. Lisa's knowledge of the film is probably pretty unprecedented but she was equally happy to point out other areas of interest, recommend local restaurants, and answer our questions about all things Irish. The time just flew by as she ferried us around the picturesque village of Cong and out to the Connemara Mountains

The area is so beautiful--it is a truly pristine country that they work hard to keep that way, and there were so many beautiful sights to see from Cong Abbey to the Castle, and the farms along the Connemara valley.

Do yourself the favor and book a tour with the charming and entertaining Lisa when you visit the area. We felt it was the best part of our trip!

This reproduction of the original cottage use in filming The Quilt Man will make the film's fans happy. Feels like stepping back in time.

I absolutely loved the Chauffeur driven tour with Lisa! She has been giving tours since she was 12 years of age! We were driven in a beautiful black Mercedes and Lisa played the soundtrack music to The Quiet Man during the tour which added to the experience. She was so full of information and would use the lines from each part when we arrived at each location, which made it possible to almost relive each scene. She was more than willing to let us get out and take pictures at each location and even made a pit stop for us during the tour!
What was really exciting was that Lisa would share little tidbits of history about the behind the scenes making of the movie. She had many to share with us during the tour which added to the whole experience! I would definitely suggest this tour to anyone who loves this movie and to those who may not even be familiar with it! It was a great informative tour with historical information and all the fun facts that accompany the fascination of this great film! ☘️💚

My wife and I did the private all day tour, visiting the The Quiet Man Museum, all the Cong Village filming locations along with the Ashford Castle "Garden" filming locations, the horse race location, the quiet man bridge, actual White O'Morn cottage location, and much more along with seeing quite a bit of Ireland. Lisa is from the Cong area, her parents run the museum. Her Irish accent is perfect for the tour, especially when she quotes the actors in specific scenes. Brush up on your knowledge of the movie, as she full of trivia. We had a blast on the ride back to Cong answering trivia questions about The Quiet Man. I hope to return some day soon and repeat the tour, and spend more than 2 days in Cong.

Private tour with Lisa was a great day

If you like John Wayne or Ireland in general, you should definitely visit this place. It illustrates history very well.

Not worth the money. The town is beautiful but the museum is disappointing.

A definitive place to stay and visit if you liked John Wayne and Tom Ford and want to have a glance of how the "Quiet Man" have been made.
