Simple hostel very close to the sea. To common room is not very big and the kitchen too, but it's enough. Probably very good place for surfers, there is also a surfschool directly next to it.

Great little hostel with personality. Staff changes relatively often, but they were great when I was there. Everything worked fine for me at the hostel. Kitchen, wifi, hot showers, pleasant beds. Great common areas. I had a good time in strandhill, give it a try! Haven't heard of it? That's a good thing. Be outgoing and you'll be rewarded.

Wow, was für eine Erfahrung!!
Mein Freund und ich hatten uns für zwei Nächte in der Lodge eingebucht. Nachdem wir von sehr nettem Personal empfangen wurden, haben wir spontan beschlossen, an einer Surfstunde teilzunehmen. Nachdem wir also den passenden Anzug plus Schuhe anhatten (im Preis inkludiert), ging es los Richtung Strand. Dieser ist quasi direkt vor der Haustür. Unser surf instructor Rory hat uns erklärt, wie man am besten auf dem Board liegt und steht, und hat dieses ebenfalls demonstriert - wir durften nachmachen. Dann ging es ab in die Wellen. Unser surf instructor hat gut aufgepasst, dass alle beisammen bleiben und hat uns auf gute Wellen hingewiesen. Die Zeit ist wie im Flug vergangen!
Nach etwa einer Stunde im Wasser (was völlig ausreicht, denn man ist dann ganz schön geschafft), sind wir wieder zurück. Es hat unglaublich viel Spass gemacht, sodass wir für den nächsten Tag gleich noch eine Stunde gebucht haben :)
Wir können sowohl Lodge, als auch Surfschool nur wärmstens empfehlen! Strandhill ist einfach wie gemacht für surfing! Viel Spass allen, die sich auch trauen :)

I cannot fault this place. We arrived late and found they had their own parkinggreat! 2 of us stayed in the Lodge and it really was hotel standard accommodation. 2 of our friends stayed in the Hostel (Lodge was booked out) and it was great too! The place is just onto the beach so we couldn't resist trying out a surf lesson since they have a surf school on the premisies. That was a blast!! We'll definitely do that again. There is a shop, cafe, 2 pubs, restuarants all beside you so that really convenient. You could just kick back and relax. Even managed to squeeze in a seaweed bath (just around the corner on sea front) before we left. We'll be back soon for sure
