Sehr schöne alte Kirche mit angrenzendem Friedhof
I have visited St. Aidans Cathedral, a number of times, during visits to relatives near Enniscorthy. Visits to this Roman Catholic Cathedral were due to religious purposes. It is a solemn, peaceful & impressive church to visit. It is a distinctively shaped long, narrow, high built & Gothic style Cathedral. Built from 1843. Consecrated in 1860. Designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (b-1812 - d-1852). The Cathedral is dedicated to St. Maedoc of Ferns (feastday 31st January), also known as St. `Aedan or Aidan who died 626. The Cathedral has an impressive facade, a long-aisled nave, altars, stained glass windows, holy images & statues, among them is a "Pieta". Definitely worth visiting even as tourists in County Wexford.
Beautifully kept church always so peaceful
Stunning church, very clean and we'll looked after. Parking might be a problem there.
