My experience with the maternity ward was exceptional! I had a very bad labour ( and a very stubborn baby ) and the midwifes and doctors couldn't do enough for me , they were amazing!
Great staff and good parking
Really good hospital very kind people
Horrendous!! My Husband got admitted 4.7.16 with very bad pains in his stomach area, 2 weeks of Diorreah and Vomiting
He was left in a side room for over 24 hrs without being seen to or told what was going on, only to be fed 1 slice of stale toast at 12pm after being there since 3:30pm.
After 48 hrs he finally got a bed on a ward to again not be seen or told anything, he had blood tests and a "chest X-ray" and was told he has inflammatory bowl disease - how they know this from a blood test is beyond me He was discharged on the Thursday Evening and ended up in a Emergency Doctors where we live, and was told to go back to Sligo Hospital, he refused, he said he would never step foot in that place again We will be going to a different Hospital.
Also The staff in the emergency department are extremely rude! One Asian lady was shouting at my Husband for asking her what was wrong with him To say we pay money for these services to be treated like this is a joke
My 5 stars are for the orthopaedic department, exceptional nursing, surgery and outpatients when I broke my ankle. All staff that I've encountered in this department are well trained, patient focused and caring.
I give the three stars for the medical staff. As usual, they are excellent. My beef is with the administrative side. I received an out-patient appointment & using the number in the letter, upon ringing to cancel as I would be unavailable, I went straight through to the Hospital Shop! They were unable to provide me with the correct number. Also, I found it impossible to find a number for out-patients online. Other than by post there seems no way to contact them.
