Of one the nicest churches in Cork. The inside in modern, while the outside highlights a layered structure in which various styles have progressively been harmonised.

North siders call it the North Chapel while everyone else calls it the North Cathedral. Midnight mass on Christmas morning was special.

The Cathedral /Shandon area is the most historic area of Cork City. It
was the heart of the Irish beef trade and the centre of the Worldwide butter trade, based in the Cork Butter Exchange.
The area has a host of historic buildings, some still performing the function for which they where built many centuries ago, such as Skiddy's Almhouse, St. Anne's Shandon, and of course the Cathedral of St Mary and St Anne. Others, like the Firkin Crane, have found new life as cultural centers.response / report this review -

Nice church a short walk from the Cork city center. Its a small charge to enter but inside you have the opportunity to go upstairs and ring the church bells as well as get a very nice view of the city.

The renovations ruined it. Now very modern and not like a traditional cathedral. An absolute disgrace what they did to it

Main Catholic Cathedral for Cork. Traditional exterior, quite modern inside with lots of light & modern stained glass. Nice to see, but a bit out-of-town. Not so much historical and architectural interest as Fin Barre's - but this one doesn't charge you to enter a public church.
