  I visit Rivergate Cafe quite regularly - because the food is very good, service is all that is expected and the value is wonderful. I've never had a bad meal at Rivergate and quite often I have exceptional meals. Rivergate punches above its weight and is a really good restaurant, consistently. 5 Stars!

  Best middle level restaurant in Youghal. Roast Beef Lunch great value, fantastic choice for Breakfast. Toilets need some work but food excellent.

  Going back again
  Went in at 4 pm to reserve a place but the waiter (who eventually turned up as I stood there all alone for a few minutes) just shrugged his shoulders and said just turn up, which seemed a bit unprofessional.
  But when we did turn up that all changed. He was very friendly and helpful and good with the kids. The food was lovely and the steak I had was perfect.
  I've never done this before, but I spotted the chef and thanked him on the way out.
  Not five stars because my wife did complain that the toilets were in poor condition and smelled badly as she had to take my daughters into them.

  Extremely ignorant and obnoxious staff. While ordering breakfast waiter was rudely sarcastic. Friend has allergies for gluten and dairy. Ordered scramble egg. When food arrived it was served on top of toast. Staff insisted that it wasn't his fault as he wasn't informed of gluten allergy only told about dairy .He wanted to charge for the first one and refused to make second.

  Food is lovely here. Went here with the gf for a morning munch, Saturday evening, the guy who I dealt with was a nice chap, very friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere,you should try their chicken carbonara, but I warn you the dish is big, and very filling. definately going to go here again, and the pricing of all our food ( 2 starter garlic mushrooms, followed by chicken carbonara and grilled ribs and burger) definately a must dine. Would happily deal with this business again
