Nice hotel. Starting to show signs of wear and tear in the bedroom and especially in the pool. Food was nice if a bit overpriced. Overall a good spot

We stayed at the Pillo hotel on Thursday and Friday night last week. The hotel itself was spotless staff extremely friendly,however, when I arrived home discovered a jumpsuit had been left behind in bed room 402 I phoned housekeeping nothing found I was advised by housekeeping, the lady who answered was extremely evasive gave me an answer too quickly if one had to refer to computer or sheets it would take a minute or two to look up details also she advised she would call me back that certainly didn't happen. I called again after two days spoke to reception first, the lady there was so nice understanding but still no sign of item left in room. I know for a fact left it in the bed room. Very disappointed as we have stayed in this hotel so many times won't be there again that's for sure. I thought this should be mentioned as when one is away from home we bring our best clothes and if we can't leave something in our bed room very sad.

We popped into the Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne on Monday night to have a coffee and cake only to leave very disappointed and vowing never to return. The service was very poor with the young staff behind the bar not only showing lack of training but total lack of experience. we ordered coffees and scones and were presented with 2 lukewarm cappuccinos served in cups placed on side plates instead of saucers with a long sundae spoon instead of a basic teaspoon. This was the tone of the whole service. The scone was cold and served on a dinner plate. When I returned the coffees I had to wait behind another customer who had returned coffees with the same complaint. As I waited for the young chap to re-make the coffees it was obvious there was very little direction from any management behind the bar. We have been to the hotel many times and even enjoyed a family meal after Tayto Park a few weeks ago but unfortunately there appeared to be a great lack of basic cleanliness behind the bar with uncovered food been stored beside a mop glass cleaner., spray cleaner just left sitting on the counter next to dishes and cutlery. Few basic food safety issues there I think

Really nice hotel at a good price. There is a swimming pool and leisure centre. The hotel had a kids club. The one negative i would have is when we had dinner it took 45 minutes for the starter and another 45minutes for the main course. As i have young kids this wasn't practical.

Worst night away I've had in a long time. Having stayed here previously and even having had my wedding party here in 2015 always had a brilliant time with brilliant staff. This time was the worst no atmosphere, no care/consideration for customers, kids everywhere (which I was not told at time of booking as definitely would of made me reconsider staying here), the staff barely wanted to be there never mind the guests. The open plan in the restaurant makes the noise at dinner unbearable. If I could do minus stars on this I would. Emailed to complain last night not even a response or as little as a verbal apology to acknowledge the horrible stay myself & my guest experienced. Horrible experience will never stay again & never recommend to anyone. Jule beauty on the other hand AMAZING!!

Have stayed before and the place is amazing. It has been upgraded and even better. Customer service is unreal. Restaurant food is top notice. Chris at the restaurant looked after us so well. Perfect family hotel, baby sitting friendly. Perfect for going to tayto park.

I know it was the first week of work being done to the hotel, but it was very badly organise. Both my husband and I witnessed several arguments amount staff. There were many mix ups with people's bills and the service was very poor. Food was OK. Playroom good for the smaller children.

Large clean and modern hotel. Serves good food, desserts coffee and snacks. Free parking. Modern gym and pool facilities. Recommended.
