(Warning, still raw, therefore some rude language)
Cool place, but owner was extremely rude. Since the owner wasnt home, I called him on his mobile phone where he apparently told me to take any bed in a certain room (he talked very fast and I couldnt properly hear him). I then proceeded to take one of the 3 double beds, since the room was empty but for another woman (who also slept in a double bed).
After a while I started cooking in the kitchen when the owner entered and without anything like "Hi, how are you? I'm. " or any sort of introduction, he asked me to come with him into the room where he told me 'since you took the liberty to put your stuff on a big bed, I took the liberty of putting it on the small one!'.
I just said ok and that's fine.
He then asked me 5 times, WHY I would take a big bed, since I'm not as tall as the other woman. Like i was mentally challenged or something. Even to my polite explanations for my reasons he continued to talk to me in a very rude manner. What the fu**? Who talks like that to a stranger??
I got angry and told him 'it's ok!', which he replied to with 'well, if you still wanna stay the night its (..) Euros.'
Dude, it was 9pm- of course i would have to stay.
Luckily I had a cool roommate who was mortified by his behavior.
Worst hostel- experience in my life and 7 years of traveling so far. Too bad, I actually liked the commonroom.
Oh, and the beds are pretty bad. I woke up in the middle of the night with backpains.response / report this review -

Really such a magical hostel! One of the cuteat I have stayed in:) The owner is a bit odd. I heard him fighting with workers and customers, I never had a problem with him but I guess others did. Great breakfast and in a great location! Can't book it on hostel world or on the website but you can call and email him or just show up :)

This is the kind of hostel you always fantasize about. The rooms have different themes and the vibe is very down to earth. Books all over, The owner makes breakfast in the morning using eggs from his chickens. The shower and bathroom situation is a little lacking. there was hot water, so that's all I need The owner Steven was very relaxed. I was feeling ill this morning and he let us take our time in the morning. Would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to anyone who can appreciate a vintage/home styled hostel. If you're particular about some of these things, I'd skip it.

Perfect value ! Comfy bed , yummy breakfast , home feel. Every room has a different theme, even the bathrooms! Worth every penny :)

A very interesting concept for a hostel. Run by an interesting older german lady. A nice breakfast was served as well and hot water for tea is always available. I felt like I was in an old Victorian age book
