The Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre is the starting point for guided tours to the stone age passage tombs at Newgrange and Knowth. The Visitor Centre contains an interpretive exhibition describing the stone age people that created the passage tombs at Newgrange and Knowth, their homes, dress, food, tools and weapons. There is also an audio—visual show and a full-scale replica of the chamber at Newgrange. There are good facilities such as a self service restaurant, a gift shop and of course, toilets.

During the summer time there might be a lot of people around so either reserve a tour ahead of time or get there early.

Went here a few years go to see some old things, and boy were there a few walking about the place I tell ya.

Apart from that the big ol' hill was pretty cool. They put all the stones back in the right places, they said, so it was pretty authentic.

A great experience a visit to Newgrange but they have one flaw in their booking system.
I had 4 clients booked in a month in advance but when we got their we had to wait two hours to take our Tour as it is a first come first serve basis unless your group is over 15 people.

It's a pity that you can't just drive up to this place any more, which is why it is four stars rather than five.

You'll arrive to the visitor centre, and hopefully there will be a spot on the bus which will take you to Newgrange. I'd advise you to prebook or get there early to avoid disappointment.

The visitor centre is fine. It has the standard mediocre café and some good exhibits downstairs.

Fabulous Visitors Centre with a great explanation of the area and history and it's development.
Wonderful cafe too. Really good food and coffee and service.
All very reasonably priced too.

The vast Neolithic tomb at Newgrange is simply astounding, and our guide was knowledgeable and enthralling.
I can heartily recommend going first thing on a showery February weekday morning - you'll appreciate having a little more time and space inside the tomb's chamber.
