Beautiful richly planted mature gardens, sylvan setting with majestic river. A joy to visit in the various seasons. An array of shopping options too including food.

Beautiful place to visit great place to eat.
But plants need to be identified.
You can see plants hear that I haven't seen in the states.

I can truly understand why Monty Don rates this as a great garden. We found All 88 treesbit of a walk so quiet tired.
Loved the Huge Magnolia flowers. The trees with twisted branches. Fabulous barks. I could go on but wouldn't do Mount Usher any justice. Please if u get a chance go and see the gardens enjoy the fun of finding each numbered tree. Some number poles hidden.
After our walk we refreshed ourselves with a pot of tea and scones in Avocca restaurant.

Visited with my wife & three children (Aged 8. 4 & 1) They loved following the map to find the different numbers marking the various trees. The paths were all suitable for the buggy. Lovely gift shops & coffee shops with indoor & outdoor eating areas. Really enjoyed the afternoon with the family in this beautiful garden.

This is my favorite place to visit. Its gardens are stunning, the river that runs through the garden and the bridges that span it make for great photo opportunities. The selection of flowers, color, the smells, the meadows, walkways, and grass to enjoy a pick-nick make this a place to put on your to do list. On the day I visited the weather was not very nice yet it took nothing away from the experience that the garden provides. I'm definitely going back and bringing my other half as she would love the shops, the coffee and the walk because this is a place that needs more than one visit just to appreciate whats on offer and its only a short journey from Dublin too. It also seems to be a magnet for cyclist. So you have no excuse not to visit even if you cant drive. Enjoy

Lovely gardens with a wide variety of colourful plant life. Also has a garden centre Avoca shop, clothes shop and Avoca cafe. The cafe can be quite noisy inside but there is plenty of quite outdoor seating.

Not too long a drive from the city and a world away from it.
Make the effort to go and you won't be disappointed. The car park is small though and if you're coming from dublin it's hidden as you approach it. Be ready to slow as you approach it.

I enjoyed this place, you have to pay in but it was worth it. If your into trees, then give it a look, great collection, my favorite were the massive Chilean Beech.
