Wonderful location, wonderful food, wonderful hosts! We absolutely loved out time at Loughdan house.
When we arrived the lady didn't give us a key to the room or ask us when we could have breakfast. Instead she wanted to know all about us. The room we were given had the sink behind the door of the bathroom and the shower had no temperature settings. IT was either on or off. The next morning everybody arrived down to breakfast together resulting in long delays. We asked for the full Irish breakfast which came with black and pink pudding , (should have been white) as an Irish person I was discussed and I hope to god tourists do not think this is the standard for B&B AS THIS IS BELOW THE STANDARD
Amazing little place, lovely hosts, great location. Will definitely head here again!
Stayed for the night while down at a mountain bike race in Wicklow a few years ago. Great place to stay. Beautiful setting, warm friendly hosts, and excellent food. Must go back some day.
Best B&B You can imagine! After a day hiking this is heaven. The dinner was great and the best we ever had in days, even with three courses. The room is beautiful with a bed you would like to stay all day. The people who run this place are adorable! They are very sweet and humble. It feels like really coming home.
Thanks for this great feeling
Great stay on the wicklow way. Very hospitable.
Best B&B in Ireland! Beautiful room and view, the owners were very nice, and breakfast was great. Can't wait to go again!
We enjoyed this economical location (a 8/10 rating) nestled amongst the hills of the Wicklow Mtnsits best to have a car due to its remote location (although Sean, your host, can drive you into town if needed so call to prearrange). Glendalough is very close as well as the Wicklow Way trail heads. The rooms are average size, beds were comfortable with clean linens and towels in good condition and we loved sitting by the fireplace in the evenings. The Irish breakfast is good and hearty before a long hike. My only critique would be to consider a bolder flavor of coffee with cream, esp as most visitors are from the States and relish that good morning "cup of joe". Overall, for the price, its recommended.
We enjoyed every second of our short stay, we arrived exhausted, were shown to our warm rooms, with fantastic views. Breakfast was the best full Irish I have ever had with lashings of hot coffee.
Definitely will return. More walking challenges ahead. Thank you.
Susi and Chrissie.
Break
The location is quite remote and can be a challenge to drive to, especially in the dark, and the view of the lake is somewhat obscured. However, the hosts are personable and attentive, the food is great, and the rooms are sizable and comfortable.
