Came here to get a quick lunch, waited 25 minutes for a member of staff to take our order after sitting. Ordered a simple sandwich and a salad which took another 20 minutes to be served! Aside from the small portions, the meal was extremely overpriced! Disgusted for what seemed to be such a lovely hotel.

I've only stayed the one time but I had a large suite on the 4th floor. Rooms were amazing and I had a great view. Food was average and servicing was nice. Great coffee in the rooms.

Stayed in a super high quality room, spotless, well designed, massive with a great view of the bridge. Its obvious passion went into the design and appointment of this hotel. Great service. But when the tap was turned on there was only the most tepid water for showering. 20 minutes of running the tap did not help.The hotel staff told us that there was a problem with the system later and fully paid our parking which was acceptable. Breakfast was great with good choices. Would stay again looks like a good hotel for business trips.

Just back from a very enjoyable stay. We were upgraded, which have us lots of room for our 2 year old to play. The staff are so friendly and I really enjoyed the breakfast, although the coffee want great. We'll definitely be back.

The Limerick Strand was the best hotel stay I had in all of Ireland. Nice location. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was well designed. The staff was extremely helpful with our early start the next day. I highly recommend the Limerick Strand for a hotel stay.

I recommend the executive suite. Not expensive and has access to executive lounge whole day with complimentary coffee. Snacks muffins fruits 24/7 . Nice room. Hotel has also gym room and fat burning courses..especially after the all you can eat breakfast buffet !! Friendly stuff

I was here for a conference dinner. The place itself was very nice. When we walked in, we were given a glass of champagne before entering the ballroom. The ballroom was beautiful, with nicely set tables, candles and plenty of lighting. The food was excellent and the service was great. Would love to stay here!

The Hotel was great, maybe not the equivalent of an American 4 Star (3 star I'd guess).
It sits directly across the street from the Shannon river. I would recommend an East facing room for the river and city view, or a north facing view to see King's island and the mountains in the distance. This hotel has some of the best views in the city.
The restaurant was every bit of a 4-5 star quality, the room and pool facilities a solid 3.
Bar seating left more to be desired of, lots of low tables. They were great for drinks and conversation, but uncomfortable if you ordered food.
There is an out of the way garden area on the lower conference floor. It was a nice quiet area to sit, drink and talk. Another hidden gem is the balcony on the 6th floor. Amazing view from here.
Maintenance needs some attention. The hot tub heater and jets did not function for our entire seven day stay. My bathroom door handle pushed and pulled 2 inches creating a large pinch point. Also, opening my shower door the metal knob fell off and landed on my bare foot.
No fee, currency exchange at the front desk, exchange rate updated daily.
I would absolutely stay again as the positives far out weigh the negatives.response / report this review -

The food is way to expensive for quality. Bathrooms a moderately clean. Function room smells of stale beer as it's carpet is dated and probably plenty have spilled on it.

The strand hotel is an excellent place to stay in Limerick Ireland due to its location. Next to the Shannon river And many pubs it's all in walking distance with good night life. The rooms are in excellent shape and the staff is very friendly. There is a gym that is independent from the hotel but guests are allowed to use it free of charge; a bit small for me but it's there to be used. Overall its been a great stay

My husband and I stayed here for one night. Parking garage easy and convenient, rooms were very nice and bathroom had both a big tub and a separate shower and were very clean. Bed was also comfy and big. Staff were okay although no one was there to help with bags or greet us. Thete was a wedding reception going on when we stayed so they seemed a bit preoccupied with that. The bar/lounge downstairs had typical bar food but portions were small and wasn't impressive. Elevator was annoying because you have to put your key card in to access your floor but I assume that's a security thing. Overall would stay again if I had to go back to Limerick.

I stayed with my wife on new years eve since we hadn't treated ourselves in the last few years. The rooms were nice and check-in was efficient. We had pre-booked the new years eve dinner downstairs with two friends but it was probably one of the worst meals I have had, even for new years eve. It was very apparent that the food had been made earlier and left in the freezer. My fish cake was tiny with a little garnish, not freshly made but defrosted from a package. Potatoes were hard and lumpy and one portion of vegetates for four people, when I ask for more service pointed at the bowel and walked away. The chips and onion rings with the steak were cooked in old oil and tasted terrible.
We put that behind use and decided to have a few drinks at the bar, but this was no better. There was eight staff inside the bar and two floaters, it took 30 min to get served even though the bar was not that busy. It was as if the staff were on a go slow. We ended up leaving and going across the bridge to another bar to have a few drinks.

Located on the banks of the River Shannon The Strand Hotel is definitely one of Limerick's finest. From arrival it showcases a beautiful reception room and continues this throughout the Hotel. Contains boardrooms from all sizes catering for businesses and party's alike The Hotel is located close to Limerick city only a five min walk and also contains a fantastic Hair salon within its compound. An amazing venue for a wedding.
