My husband and I stayed a week in Ireland and this was by far the best place we stayed. Mark and Ann Marie are the sweetest and most welcoming people we met and we would LOVE to stay again. Both Mark and Ann Marie are very knowledgeable about the area and gave fantastic tips on the must-see places. The property is serene and stunning and a welcomed change from our everyday city lives. We weathered out Hurricane Ophelia here and never had a doubt that we would be cared for. Mark is quite the entertainer and very patient when teaching us how to care for the local livestock. Ann Marie is a fabulous cook and actually convinced me to try the traditional black and white pudding for breakfast. Surpriseit was delicious! My husband still says the breakfasts we had with Mark and Ann Marie were the best he's ever had. We were sad to leave since not only did we befriend Mark and Ann Marie, but also their wonderful dog Bruce, a lamb named Pete, a 650lb pig who LOVES to be scratched, and various other goats, sheep, and horses. Those two days on Lawcus Farm were some of the best we had in Ireland, even with the hurricane. We would highly recommend staying here and will absolutely be going back to visit Mark and Ann Marieand Bruce, of course.

Absolutely fantastic. Will come back again. We spent 4 nights in the tree house and had a fantastic time. Mark and Ann-Marie were the best hosts we could have. Food is 5 stars and they are super knowledgeable about the area.

A word of caution about the tree house though. If you are any larger than 6'1 or 250lbs you will not fit into the shower there. Otherwise its a cozy place I'd recommend for anyone.

I stayed at Lawcust Farm Guesthouse in August 2017 with my two sisters and one of their husbands. We were in the Gold Room. Our stay was so much more than we expected due to our wonderful host and hostess, Mark and Ann Marie! We stayed two nights had a delicious breakfast both mornings, were supplied with a hand drawn map to see the local sights, enjoyed venturing out to see the farm animals being fed and seeing Bruce their dog chase the heron At Mark's suggestion we went to Malzards, the local pub in Stoneyford, where we enjoyed talking to Fred the owner, listening to music and eating food from an Indian restaurant, who delivered to the pub! Fred put Hurling on the TV and then had to explain the scoring as we were clueless!! Since my sister collects heart shaped stones and we were going to the Ring of Beara, Mark gave us a hand written map to follow. He recommended the beach at Garinish for finding heart shaped stones. My sister found two!! We would recommend Lawcus to anyone looking to stay near Kilkenny. We stayed at five B&B's in Ireland and Lawcus was by far the best one. Thank you for your hospitality!!!

In a 15 day trip to Ireland this was one of the best stays. We only had 2 nights, but wished we could stay more. The farm is amazing. Mark and Anne Marie run a great operation and the location is perfect. One night we headed in to the Malzards Pub at Stonyford for "just one" - ended up drinking and singing all night. Best night in Ireland. Turned out we were singing with Anne Marie's Dad - a great musician : ) Then we had Indian Pizza and made our way back to the farm.

Lawcus Farm was delightful. Ann Marie and Mark made our family feel completely at home from the moment we arrived - Their hospitality is genuine and easy and they set the bar very high for B&Bs.

The house is beautifully restored, accommodation is very comfortable and the setting is magic. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful and set us up for a day of exploring. If you are visiting Kilkenny, this is THE place to stay!
