Looks great from the outside, but you might call before making the drive. We were excited that there weren't any tour buses, but got concerned when we were the only car. Turns out, the castle has been closed to tours for two years.

Unfortunately, we arrived late and entrance was closed already. However, this castle is gorgeous to look at from the outside and a lot more beautiful than Bunratty castle. We didn't come across a more impressive castle during our adventure through County Clare.

Best time ever, very professional staff, great show, and decent food, well worth the visit. Both the castle and Gardens are amazing, spend the day and enjoy your visit. If you can afford to stay the night go for it, you will never forget your stay here. The lovely ladies that show up to make you a traditional Irish Breakfast just tops your visit. Everyone was so kind and friendly, I felt like I was staying at mom's.
