I love this place.very quite. Inexpensive at all. And great place for eating alone.
Best Japanese food in Galway, have to try home made ice-cream
Great food at great prices. The staff are lovely too.
Kappa-Ya might be Galway's finest restaurant and is definitely Ireland's best Japanese restaurant.
To me, Junichi is always pushing himself to incorporate new ideas, concepts and flavours. Everytime I return there is something new and explorative on the menu.
Huge attention is paid to the components of each meal. They're locally sourced when possible and 99-100% prepared in house. Ask about their ice-cream or smoked coffee.
The staff and atmosphere is always relaxed and welcoming. The dynamic is also interesting to observe. The staff seems to always follow in the head chef/owner's lead - attention is paid to every detail of service.
Everytime I'm home, Kappa-Ya is my first stop in town. Im hoping it's nkw safe to say, at this point, Kappa-Ya is a Galway staple.
Great food and service. Will be coming back :)
Excellent Japanese cuisine with huge menu at reasonable prices. Cosy restaurant that seats 16 or so. Great sushi and large vegetarian selection.
Love this place, amazing Japanese food and great value for money!
Delicious lunch but they used drumstick/thigh meat for a Teriyaki chicken dish I ordered. Drumstick and thigh is a more fatty and greasy sort of meat. I was expecting lean chicken breast.
I recommend Teriyaki. Fish on the rice was so soft that makes more flavor. Staffs are kind and service was good
Excellent food, great service and a charming atmosphere.
I love japnees food.. I have been to many japaneese restaurants. one among those best restaurants is Kappa ya.
Food was amazing, you get native japaneese feel. The teriyaki chicken Don was so tasty and mainly the staff is so friendly. I would recommend this resturant who wants to try decent japaneese restaurant.
