One of the better known ruins in Ireland it is no longer situated on the main road. Car parking is god and access is by office hours.
It is an interesting place for its carvings and ruins. The guided tour is well thought through and informative. Well worth a visit
It's OK, unless you are into delving deep into the Irish monk historical aspects, which are available here. It's a very nice ruin. But others were just as nice, and I don't know if I'd make a special trip to see this. Many parts were blocked off, so if you want a dramatic view or to climb around on the towers or upper floors, this isn't quite the place
Steeped in history dating back to 12 century. Make sure you do a guided tour to get a real sense of the place. Lots of photographic opportunities for the photographer? Public toilets available but no cafe or shop. Small selection of souvenir cards available
Very beautiful scenery and the tour guide is excellent and lots of amazing history with unique cravings a great day out.
An interesting story. Nice and unrepeatable low reliefs. Ticket - 3 EUR. I would recommend. I was there 15.06.2016
4 euros per adult to visit. Well looked after and there are guided tours. Great visitors centre with details of other places to visit in area and very clean toilets. Very helpful staff.
There is a small fee, but tours are included if you like, and if you can, you should! Margaret was our guide. "An interactive comedy show with an immense amount of information" is a better description than "tour." It seems that all of the OPW guides are knowledgeable and clearly love what they do. Take advantage of these amazing people and let them show you around! Margaret, thank you so much for a most delightful time in this incredibly multi-layered historical site.
