Fantastic place to spend a day, anytime of year. The grounds are vast and meticulously maintained. The Japanese gardens are beautiful. There is nothing else like them around. This is one of the best ways to spend your time in Kildare.

My dad and I went there on last August and it was our first time to visit the garden. It's a beautiful place and it has several horses. I love horses and they're magnificent creatures! I absolutely love it there! I'd like to visit there again someday! I'd say spring and summer are perfect times for visiting this place.

Fabulous day . Ive always wanted to go and put it on the long finger. Great day guided tours. Restaurant and Japanese gardens.
I did expect to see koi and carp in the ponds in the Japanese gardens but still were lovely.

Beautiful grounds. Beautiful animals. Horses were well displayed. Wished I could have seen more behind the scenes stuffveterinary facility, foaling barn, etc. Good place to visit.

Lovely place to walk around, we're not particularly into horses but still really enjoyed our visit. Three is a good playground and fairy trail for the kids. The cafe is excellent. The Japanese garden is brilliant.

Stopped here as part of our tour of Ireland. Very interesting tour with a knowledgeable young guide. Nice little restaurant here for lunch. Best part of tour was of course, the horses! The Japanese garden was beautiful and made a very quiet and serene stroll.

A great day out. Well worth making sure you time your arrival for one of the guided tours as they are very informative and give you a great overview of the place. It was freezing when we were there so I'd highly recommend buying a takeaway coffee from the restaurant to take with you! The homemade soup when we got back was very welcome as well.

The visit the Irish National Stud is not a stop I would normally schedule. I was on a tour and it was part of the package and I am glad I had the opportunity. Start with the Japanese Gardens. It traces a journey through life and turmoil through landscape and garden and is spectacular. Better yet is the stud itself and the grounds. From a humorous tour through the breeding barn to the stalls and the current stud to the fields where the horses hang out taught a lot. The most impacting thing I left with was the care and understanding that a horse that fails on the flat track can win in the steeplechase. The Stud overflows with a (horse)sense of worth. And the art on the grounds and the way it is kept will leave one with the impression of care in the development of a royal animal.
