Very well done tour. Our guide was a great speaker and moved the tour along. It was great to see the crystal handcrafted close up. I can now understand with all the time put into each piece why they are priced accordingly. I did some comparison pricing and the showroom at the end of the tour does have good pricing. Just remember if you are not in the EU to be keeping track of the VAT tax so you can get the tax back at the airport when you leave.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The tour itself was great, very informative and our guide David was great too. The tour of the manufacturing floor was really interesting.
Fantastic tour, you really get a sense of the craftsmanship that goes into the crystal, as well how crystal is made and what goes into it. The tour is through a working factory, so you get to see day-to-day operations. In fact, we were there while one apprentice was taking her exams. You get to hold several amazing crystal pieces, as well as pieces in various stages of construction. All-in-all a wonderful experience!
Sean was our tour guide and was very informative and friendly. Eleanor was very welcoming at the desk. Highly recommend the tour.
Great experience. Fantastic glassware. Seeing the different processes on the tour was fascinating. Well worth a visit.
We got there early and were lucky enough to have a tour all to ourselves. Our guide was marvellous, explaining every procedure in glass/crystal making very clearly so we all undestood. My elderly mother was given a wheelchair so she was able to come too without the pain & tiredness of having to walk it. An excellent tour.
It's crystal wonderland for those with a passion for crystal art, though I understand that Waterford crystal is no longer produced in Waterford but China. Many tourists, mostly American and Asian so I guess the fame of Waterford travelled far. It's definetly worth a visit if you re around.
A thousand thanks to the people here. We showed up 3 minutes after 4 and missed the last tour, but they let us run in and join the last one and pay at the end. Their kindness and willingness to let us in saved our trip to waterford and made my mother's birthday complete. The facility is great and the tour is very informative. I loved the no wall kind of tour they run. You can ask the craftsman questions if you want and they showed us stuff hidden away and stuff they were proud of. The store at the facility is beyond description. You simply have to go.
What starts out as a seemingly boring crystal tour becomes one of the most fascinating and action packed tours of your life!
The moment you step into the glass/screened room, it's all fireworks and bangs, everything is crazy.
There's literally no better way to make a tour about crystal glass any more interesting, but I won't spoil it by telling you what's in the tour, you'll have to go see for yourself ;)
The staff actually making the crystal have a very funny sense of humour, they're all great lads.
I fully recommend going to the gift shop and looking at all the awesome products that I would call works of art.
If you are a fan of glass making, be sure to visit and take a tour of the factory. Very much worth it, extremely friendly staff and workers that are willing to answer any and all of your questions. Of course there is the gift shop at the end of the tour, be sure to bring plenty to spend, it is not cheap.
Worth a visit to see all the Waterford crystal and hi it was made. Lower end of the city the mall but near the shopping centres highly recommend a visit also the museum and other amenities near by
Very interesting place to visit even if you aren't a fan of crystal. Watching the artists at work, crafting and designing the crystal is fascinating. The tour ends in the showroom and it's hard not to buy something! Gorgeous pieces of crystal in all sizes and shapes.
Nice place to buy crystals from Waterford, but that's it. If you want something more artisanal I would suggest the shop a couple of blocks up north (close to the church and the widows house) , you can even see their atelier and sometimes how they do it. Much nicer!
