Had a lovely relaxing weekend here. Bar food is reasonably priced, with an extensive menu of very tasty good food. Rooms are very comfortably appointed with a lovely mixture of vintage and modern furniture.

A very well maintained period building right in the middle of Waterford which still captures some old world charm.
Comfy beds, friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast, what more do you need?

Brilliant service. Staff fantastic. We had a graduation dinner with 28 guests everything was amazing. They went out of there way for us. Well done to all the staff.

Great service and staff very helpful. Lovely rooms and cannot fault breakfast so much choice. Also had food in evening from bar which again was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be going back

Wasn't staying here but went for dinner in the bar sidefantastic, chowder was amazing. Staff friendly place is beautiful Old style . thanks all if we came again we'd stay with you.

Charming, beautifully decorated hotel with a variety of rooms. Some rooms fairly large with a double bed and twin bed. Bathrooms nice sized and shower lovely although difficult to climb into. The dinner in the restaurant was amazing and service outstanding! The location, on the waterfront, was very picturesque. We enjoyed the live music in the pub downstairs and seems popular with locals. The customer service was impeccable! Only complaint is that there is no air conditioning in rooms and they have small oscillating fans in the rooms. We opened windows but with no screensit was really too hot in the room to get a decent sleep (early August).

Lovely place, food is quite good. They do a fabulous breakfast. They lose 1 star because the only accept card payment on purchases over €10 I went in for a coffee and ended up having to geta mineral and cake also just so they would take my card

I use this Hotel for evening Bar food regularly with my parents. The food never disapoints and is suitable for all ahes. The service is excellent and friendly. We find this Hotel a very comfortable haven to spend a few hours relaxing. Best Hotel in Waterford by a long shot.

Really lovely, charming hotel. Older facility, but very well-maintained. Centrally located, easy walking distance to all the Waterford sites. I wasn’t a big fan of the breakfast fare, but pretty sure it was a cultural thing as much as anything (they serve this porridge stuff, like a gluey oatmeal, which is so nasty they offer it drenched in Bailey’s. Most things taste better drenched in Bailey’s, right?) I had Eggs Benedict, which was fine.

Love the Granville Hotel nice en cosy great atmosphere staff friendly always a smile on their face loved it. Food very good and reasonably priced. Easy access from the train and on merchant quay in Waterford city on the doorsteps of the shopping centres recommend highly a must.

Incredible place to stay and if ever in Ireland again I will make the time to go to Waterford again just to stay. The hotel is a meeting point in history, a history I know little about and will learn more. Key characters in the history of the Irish Republic lived or were born in and around here - Parnell, Meagherand with links and connections to prisoners rising to American patriots. And the hotel is a very fine piece of architecture loyal to that period but modern enough all can be comfortable. The dining room is elegant and well served but the bar is the real place to be. With reading room outside and fantastic woodwork inside it is a must see place to go. And it is extremely well stocked, including for bourbon drinkers like me. All top shelf. Worth a few days stay to travel the local area.

Wonderful old hotel. Very classy. Friendly, professional staff. Comfortable and clean with all the amenities you need. Excellent meal in the dining room and an Irish Coffee demonstration too!

A great, family run hotel in Waterford. Very friendly staff, lovely breakfasts (try Mary's porridge with apple syrup). The hotel itself is a historic building and is the first place that the Irish Tricolour was displayed by Thomas Francis Meagher.
On the river bank within easy walking distance of anywhere in the city.response / report this review -

I commute to Waterford on a daily basis and regularly have my breakfast in the hotels bar. I have always had a pleasant time dining in the Granville, however my most recent experience was far from pleasurable.
One of the hotels management staff was extremely rude to me, she first asked why I was waiting in the Lobby ( I told her I was waiting on the bar to open for 10 O'clock breakfast, it was 9:25 at the time) she then accused me of "falling asleep" in an armchair and warned me not to do it again or I would have to leave the hotel.
Last time I checked I was not a narcoleptic, nor do I suffer from short term memory loss, so I know for a fact that I did not fall asleep in that armchair.
As I said before I have always had a great time dining in the Granville and no other staff members have treated me in this way before. But this took the biscuit for me.
