A really good test of how good you are and equally a hard course to score on. To play each hole well you need a good plan, knowing where to hit and how far to hit is key, following that up with good accurate shots to the greens and plenty of undulations to keep your putter occupied.

No caddie services are available and the menu in the clubhouse is very basic. Which is fine, it depends on the services that you want that may add to a good experience.

Plays as an tough golf course that has top staff that take to the first tee box. No messing around and none of the silly 'play ready golf'. They don't expect slow play. I'll be back again in the spring and summer. My own handicap is 22 but not entirely out of my depth. It is a golfers golf course. Wish I was living closer and I would apply to join.

Disregarding my bias towards links golf, this is still one of the best courses in the country. Outside of the very friendly and accommodating staff, the course itself is immaculate and the greens were some of the fastest I've played, For mid November, it is a testament to the greenkeeping staff. I won't be waiting as long to play here again.

I agree this is a must play Golf course- my favorite course - challenging, beautiful and at times outright intimidating. It will make you think on every shot and being long off tee wont be a big advantage I also played and would recommend Island Golf Club, Portmarnock and KClub Palmer course however the European club was on a level all to itself.
Also stay at the K Club (Kildare Hotel) very special place.

I truly don't understand how this course got a one star.. This is the best course I have ever played! Mr Ruddy and his family are one of a kind. Every hole was breathtaking. I thank Mr Ruddy for making the greatest game ever.. The best! If you are in Ireland for golf, you will make the biggest mistake if you don't play this course
