Great castle to visit and tour. Great views from top if you have the nerve to make your way up

Stopped here on the way to Ailwee caves. Dunguaire is another of the many old castle built around 1568. The smell of limestone will remind you of what life used to be around this era. The view at the top is fantastic and the furniture was well preserved.

Small castle that can be rented for events and functions, consisting of a twee story tower and a court yard. They have a gorgeous dining room where the former owners used to entertain; you feel like you are back in the old times. Entrance fee required (€6). They have a souvenir shop and a crafts shop. Free parking on a parking lot close to the castle with CCTV cameras.

Pretty cool castle. Small but has a lot of history. The banquet dinner is pretty unique with short skits and poetry. Recommend it for something different.

Much more fun than I was expecting. I'm not one for music or story telling but the Irish have a way of doing both, and it's actually entertaining. Food could have been better but it was good enough and hey, how often do you get to eat in a castle?

The beauty and history alone is reason enough to add this gem to your places to stop and admire. Factor in the local craft and jewelry making shop upstairs, their (his) work is stunning. The downstairs gift shop is no more special than any Carols Irish Gift Shop you come across throughout touristy areas .. might even be exactly that. But loved that we could go inside the castle and appreciate the history. No photo will be a bad one. Highly recommend!

I loved this castle. Couldn't walk around the tower, too tight a fit, but the castle was awesome. Love that it is so well-preserved.

Although small, one of the better view able castles in Ireland. The staircase is a challenge however provides a unique insight into how the occupants managed to live there. The top of the castle is a must walk as it provides great views of the surrounding countryside.

Such a beautiful castle. I visited this castle on the way to Cliffs of Moher. I didn't have a chance of going inside the castle, but I was satisfied by the scenic view.

Great to see from the outside but closed when we were there. Short walk from the parking lot to the castle. Beautiful seaside area

Nice castle..parking opposite with old cottages beside it. Free to walk around ( while tough ) and enter the yard and shop. To go into the deep castle itself and go to the roof - its paid. Worth a stop if on the road.
