I really liked this zoo!! In my opinion it has been the best zoo I have seen overseas. The Orangutans exhibit is absolutely stunning!! They will actually move from island to Island above you!!! I really liked that African Plains exhibit as well! When i went it was 41 degrees Fahrenheit and the majority of animals were out!

No 1 attraction in Ireland and for good reason. Always changing for the better yet still a connection to its past. Good range of animals not huge mind you. Hence the dropped star

Wild lights at Dublin zoo
The lanterns are fabulous, really well done but the rest of the experience is very poor. The Chinese market consisted of 5 stalls and one noodle bar/trailer. Service was very slow. There was one hot chocolate stall located elsewhere. The service there was painstakingly slow. The position of the stage for the show was really poor, if you're not in the first 4-5 rows of people you can see anything. I like many others had to put my son on my shoulders for the entirety so he could see. It felt overcrowded and difficult to navigate the route with a buggy. Generally the zoo is fantastic but this is really not worth the money paid. It was a real let down and I wouldn't recommend.

Great conservation zoo. Education centre and lots of information about the healthy, well cared for residents, too many to mention! The male Orangutan was bedding down for the evening when I was there and he'd been covered in a hessian blanket by his minder which is how he likes to sleep. He look very content. The new reptile house is very sensitively delivered. A range of food outlets, Meercat restaurant is my personal favourite - a bit more pricey than it ought to be but has a good range of healthy and not so healthy options. Long walk with plenty of greenery, so allow plenty of time.

Love Dublin Zoo and have visited many times a good family day out. I would note that unfortunately when entering the zoo the staff weren't particularly helpful which didn't get us off to a good start (Tara)!!
I thought that because we booked online it would have been a lot easier, but you have to enter via a different entrance, which we eventually found on our own!!

Great Zoo with the animals looking healthy and alert. The Zookeepers are very good and take great care of the animals and their enclosures. A lovely place for a day out and there are always new things each time I visit. Would recommend this place to anyone.

An amazing Zoo with an incredible staff. If you every watch "The ZOO" on the BBC, here is where it was filmed. They take exceptional care of their animals and their well-being. I try to go to zoos whenever I travel and this is one of my favorites. Could spend days here.

Very enjoyable day out for the whole family. We took 4 hours to walk around and fully enjoy all that Dublin Zoo had to offer. What was especially interesting was the talks given by the zoo keepers at specified times in different locations throughout the Zoo. The staff were friendly and eagerly answer questions. It gets very busy, so would recommend coming before noon. The cafes are also relatively expensive and very busy so it is good to pack a picnic. Highly recommended.

Excellent day out. Best zoo I've ever been to. All the animals look healthy and alert. Its a lovely walk through with lots of plants and trees from each animals natural habitat. There's a wonderful children's playground and lots of rest stops. There's reasonable priced food and beverages at the couple of cafes, an ice cream stand and vending machines with cans, bottles, sweets, chocolate and crisps. Lots of photo opportunities at the kiddies petting zoo. Would definitely recommend a trip there.

The zoo is kept extremely well, and is lovely to walk around on a sunny day. The range of animals is impressive and there were even some that were surprising to see (check out the okapi). The birds were not available to see due to risk of catching bird flu, but we understand and accept that. Worth a visit.

This is a lovely zoo within the Phoenix Park. Animals are out in the open and lots to see. We went out there with a few friends and there are lots of little areas for children to play in and areas for Picnics. Kids loved the zebras, giraffes, lions and monkeys. Little expensive but well worth a visit!!!

Went there last weekend again. Queue for 15 mins to get the ticket and into the park. The zoo is relatively organized and designed. Not very crowded inside. A lot of birds and penguins can't be seen due to bird flu threats. Only one fast food take away in the middle of the zoo. All junk food. Overpriced and Not healthy at all. The beverage price is very dear. The ticket is not cheap too. No interaction with the Animals. A lot need to be improved.

Great place to bring my son. He absolutely loved it. A little bit pricey inside for snacks but in the end a great day so well worth the money. Get there early and take your time going around. We spent 6 hours there and saw everything. ---- just got us the years membership and will be going a lot this year. Great place

Brilliant zoo, I highly recommend this.

This is what I call a proper zoo - tigers, lions, giraffes, rhino, monkeys, it's got the lot!

Give yourself plenty of time as you'll want to not rush around.

There are some good places to get a drink and food also and it's not far from the city center.

The weather wasn't great when we went but we still really enjoyed it. It gets busy at peak times but it really doesn't matter as it is so large.
