Drumhalla House is a gorgeous venue in a beautiful setting. We celebrated our wedding there this summer and sadly ran into major difficulties with the venue owner. He cancelled our wedding and refunded our entire payment saying our 'demands were intolerable' which were fairly standard things like asking that each of our guests would have a seat if the ceremony was outdoors, we even volunteered our families to help. He didn't communicate the correct check-out time for guests (it turned out to be 10.30am rather than 12pm as he had originally told me), we never received a contract and his communication was rude and abrupt. The setting is fabulous, the team there were fantastic, we had everything we needed, but sadly I would say buyer beware to any couples considering here for their wedding. The undue stress that was caused 2 weeks before our wedding was unwarranted and simply not worth it!

I am not sure why people rate this place as 5*. When I stayed there this year, I noticed dirty windows and cobwebs in corners of some rooms. The iron provided for use of guests was an inferior quality supermarket brand which would have been fine were it not broken. We borrowed the iron from the next house only to find it was also broken.
Shortly after arrival, guests were asked for payment and no receipts given,the same applied at the bar in the marquee.
The bathroom in house 1 where I stayed needs updating and there was some mould on the window blind,certainly not the standard I would expect in a 5* premises.
On the positive side, the location is lovely and the staff helpful and courteous.response / report this review -

Despite having all of Ireland to choose from for holiday destinations, we still choose Drumhalla House and Rathmullan year in year out. Coming here since I was 10 or 12 and now my own son pesters me about when we can go again. Endless fun and adventure for kids and adults alike. (Of course, I'd have to say thatbut its true!!)
