Fantastic area. Great shops to pick up little gifts and learn about the history of the mountain.

Excellent personal, Mayo coloured cup cakes, good coffee and cake. Why not 5 stars (people are 5 stars? Place could look a bit better and souvenir shop needs a touch of magic. Other than this-all perfect.

Handy parking for your hike up Croagh Patrick, paid parking but max €3 for the day. Small shop for souvenirs and a hiking stick can be hired for a few €s. Handy bar for rehydrating after you descend right beside it. No real information on the history or importance of the mountain there.

Fantastic experience delighted to have got safely to the top and back down again. It's a beautiful feeling. Oh impressive to not alone have a loo half way up and at the top but to have loo paper in both incredible fair play..

Nice clean place at the foot of Croagh Patrick. I didn't eat here but did buy a gift for an American friend. The cakes and treats on display looked delicious!

Not a good one. You could smell the toilets as you entered the cafe. They hadn't been cleaned for several days - see photo. We were there on May 10th afternoon. Coffee was lukewarm and cake not fresh. What a pity.

This is a good hike, just a long steep incline. It can be dangerous for those with heart problems -- the mountain has several casualties a year. It is a popular hiking spot, but know your health and fitness levels before you try to make the entire ascent.

You have to pay for parking (i think it is 3 euros) and parking time is capped out, so theoretically you are limited in the amount of time you can climb and come down. That being said, we went over the time by about an hour and were not penalized.

Bring snacks and water! Check the weather -- I got sun burned because I didn't wear sun screen. A wind breaker jacket is suggested -- it can be windy and even chilly at the top.

About half way up there is a good flat area and bathrooms to take a break and snack.

The second half is very very rocky. Ankle supported shoes are recommended. You can rent walking sticks at the bottom, we didn't use them but others did.

All in all, an amazing hike, but like all hikes, be safe and aware.
