Well worth a visit. Allow sufficient time considerably more to see than you'd first guess at. Little Gem in the heart of Dublin. Ps lovely food at the restaurant as well
Fantastic resource to have in Dublin. Free entry, and a wonderful rooftop garden. Lots of events and classes available. Some free or for a reasonable fee. The cafe food is delicious. Visit!
One of my favorite attractions we went to during a week in Dublin. There are some unusual artifacts and it is free. The café on the ground floor is VERY good and reasonably priced.
Ancient manuscripts, papyri, and books. Not sure what the purpose is of these types of museums. Sort of like "look what we have". For the most part, they are not aethetically pleasing (scribblings on a scroll or a single page opened to a small illustration you can hardly see). Sure, historically these are important materials. I'm glad someone has them. But they hold no interest for me.
In and out in 30 minutes. Free.
Great place to visit. It's Japanese exhibition right now. Really great. Just you can't go there with backpack and camera. Everything must to stay in locker. Good to have 1 euro for it. Admission free.
One of the best museums I've ever visited. You can't walk it all in just one day and the exhibitions rotate constantly.
Beautiful museum if you're interested in books and art. It's free but you are suggested to give an offer. Anyway you have to leave all your stuff outside (there are boxes).
Visited by Chance when in Ireland and was very pleasantly surprised finding this place and seeing a great display on surimino prints. Free admission , a good scone and cuppa and held our interest for a good 2 hours. Great find!
With free admission and described by the Lonely Planet as not just the best museum in Dublin, but one of the best in Europe, the Chester Beatty Library is a must-see on any Dublin visitor's itinerary. As the only museum in Ireland to win 'European Museum of the Year' and rated consistently in the top 5 of TripAdvisor’s list of ‘Top things to do in Dublin', the library's rich collections from countries across Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe open a window on the artistic treasures of the great cultures and religions of the world.
