The experience was generally positive, and I somehow managed to put over 900 miles on the car in 5 days. There was, however, one huge negative aspect of renting with Budget Ireland. When I picked up the car at the downtown Killarney office, I was told that a 25 euro "administrative fee" would be added to the invoice, because I declined the Collision Damage Waiver ( expensive) coverage. I had a letter from MasterCard, advising that they would pick up the CDW in Ireland. This was never mentioned, when I rented the car, on line, earlier this year. This is a pure rip-off !

Overall it was a good exprience renting the car here. My brother and I wanted to use it to explore the region as part of our Ireland trip. The car was small as requested (Skoda Fabia) and clean, the office was easy to find in the center of the city and the pick-up was really fast. Because I am not used to drive in left-sided traffic we wanted to minimize the financial risk in case something happens, which was was no problem. Sadly the staff didn't really explain how that pushed the price from about 50€ (online) to about 250€ for a 3-day-rental. Only after asking about that we were at least told that 90€ will be refunded if the car is returned with a full fuel tank. Also despite returning the car during opening times there was no staff at the office, which wasn't a big problem in terms of the Drop-off (drop the key in the box) but we could have used some feedback on where to park the car as most parking spaces directly at the office were taken.
Everything else went really smooth, i received the fuel refund about a week after returning the car and next time we visit that great country we will properly rent here again.response / report this review -

We rent a car for few days for a great value. The car was very good, easy to drive, small as requested, clean. The staff in the office is very nice. If I need, I'll definitely use Budget Car Rental again.

I've rented from the Killarney branch multiple times and it's always a good experience. Vey convenient location with great customer service. I'll definitely be using them in the future.

I've been using budget car rental for the past year and have found the service really good. The guys working there are friendly and really helpful. Great location in the center of killarney town. Great selection of cars. Will continue to use budget. Never any problems.

We have used Budget Car Rental in Killarney for many years, mostly between the autumn and spring. It is good value and very convenient to the railway station for walking. Most of the time Liam collects us and drops us back up to the station when he is free to do it. He is very friendly and helpful and always produces a car appropriate to our requirements. We know we will be looked after when we arrive in Killarney.

We rented a compact 4-door car and was given a Fabia.
The car was fine, although it had already 67000 km when we picked up.
You will be given a price package including the various options (Super CDW, windscreen protection, road assistance plus, etc.), but you can always take out anything you don't like.
Just make sure to read the terms and conditions in details before you go.
In overall, very good experience for this well located car hire in Killarney.response / report this review
