  Loved walking the castle. The steps up are a winding staircase with only a rope on your right to hold on to. The steps are worn from age and you want to have a good footing. I wouldn't recommend anyone with knee issues or elderly attempt the steps. Still, it was fun to visit all the areas of the castle.

  We went there, it's nice and the garden is beautiful. But the castle itself is nothing impressive. To be honest it doesn't look a castle to me. The history is nice. I didn't kiss the stone!
  It's worth to visit to have your own opinion and enjoy it. I wouldn't go back because once it's more than enough.

  Very nice place with lots of history on the grounds. For €15 pp it would have been really good to have the option of guided tours though. Also the manor house was closed for the season so the entrance price should reflect that instead of still being charged full access price

  Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Blarney Castle. The nooks and crannies in the castle itself are interesting and revealing. The views from the top of the castle are superb. The poison garden was informative and the rest of the grounds had some hidden treasures that made exploring worthwhile.

  I seriously felt cheated this time!!!
  Don't go there now - while they are cleaning up after hurricane Ophelia.
  
  Here's why:
  Last year in autumn we went there for the first time. Weather was good (would recommend to go there when it's not raining) and everything there was perfect. We spent hours in and mostly around the castle in the gardens with all the hidden places (it's huge and beautiful). We've seen every single corner.
  
  Today we went there and EVERYTHING except the castle was locked and roped in. I understand they have to be careful with branches which might fall down on people or other danger spots, but they really had the nerve to still charge the full price of 15€ and did not even tell me that the gardens and everything else is closed. I don't want to blacken the man who sold the tickets but knowing that everything is closed would've changed the situation for me. And honestly - the visit of the castle itself is done in 20 mins and REALLY not worth the 15€. Do yourself a favor and wait until they have cleaned up the "post hurricane mess". Otherwise you won't get what you pay for.
  
  I loved the place last year so I will come back one day but here's my message for the director of Blarney Castle: Lower the prices in times like these. That would be fair. And if you need money for clean up, ask for donations.

  While the line to get into the castle was long (and we didn't wait because of our little one) the grounds are fabulous! The poison garden just beside the castle had many interesting plants, there are many fun hidden spots as well. The hideaway waterfall while small was still neat to see, and the history and surrounding area are worth it!

  Words can't do justice to this magical place. Blarney Castle is amazing, but the gardens are the real show stopper on this tour. Visitors can walk the acres of gardens and ride in a horse drawn carriage to a beautiful waterfall. The Blarney House is spectacular as well. This is a great "must see" attraction in Ireland.

  OK, I know it's kitsch, but it does so in the best way. Kissing the Blarney Stone is harder than you think! The castle is smaller than most, but it is well preserved and interesting. It is not for the claustrophobic given the narrow, winding steps. They have quite nice grounds including a 'poison' garden with foxglove, ivies, marijuana, and so on.

  I've heard some people online say that Blarney Castle isn't worth it They are absolutely wrong. The castle was fun and if you go before 10am or after 3pm, the wait to kiss the Blarney Stone is minimal. The real draw here is the gardens. The poison garden was cool and the rest of the park was beautiful. From the ancient druid stones to the Jurassic Park level ferns in the Fern Garden, my wife and I had a blast exploring the gardens. DON'T SKIP BLARNEY CASTLE & GARDENS.

  Fantastic place, well worth a visit. Try and get there as near to opening time as possible, during peak visitor months. Go to the castle first, kiss the stone, if you like, then explore the gardens. Nice cafe there. For lunch walk to the nearby Blarney Woolen Mills after your tour of the castle. Great self service cafe there and excellent souvenir shop
