Great little pub at the end of barracks Street. Was only here once on the Jazz weekend and it was brilliant. Was an incredible band called the jazzmasters or something who were absolutely class. The vibe and atmosphere in the bar was cool. We only stayed around 2hrs here but will be a place I'll be sure to stop off at anytime I'm in town.

Absolutely fantastic spot, love going here and is after becoming our local-Colm and the rest of the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere in general in BarBarella is unreal!! I brought a friend from west cork here over christmas-a self proclaimed Guinness connoisseur😂and he said it was the best Guinness hes ever had in the city!! Would highly recommend BarBarella to anyone!

Sound bar man in there, they give you a free pint of Ireland or munster win a match, or if you complete the crossword! Give you a few wedges to snack on, but other than that it's also a nice pub to be in, relaxed sound spot:)

This interesting pub is located in a very historic area and claims to be in business since 1698 … I did not know that Jane Fonda was that old!

It is really the Gateway Bar and as such the owners claim that it is the oldest pub in Cork. According to the owners it was established in 1698 and the Dukes of Wellington and Marlborough were among its patrons. There is no mention as to what name it operated under back then. It is suggested that it is possibly the oldest pub in Ireland.

Almost every town in Ireland claims that they have a pub that might be the oldest in Ireland but at this stage most people agree that the Brazen Head in Dublin is actually the oldest.
