Fantastic place, would highly recommend staying! Spent a night there on a trip around the country, and we all wished we could have spent all of our nights there.

This is a gorgeous hostel (it really earns the "Luxury Hostel" title). The wooden furniture is handmade locally and the beds are large and comfortable. This place was put together with extreme attention to detail - the beds have shelves, plugs, and plenty of storage space; the dining area and kitchen are spacious and clean. There is even a reading room and a sauna.

Teresa and Séamus were gracious and welcoming hosts and had great knowledge of the area. They are both very friendly and lovely people and were a highlight of my trip.

First, the treasures of Ireland are both its people and landscape. With this in mind, you'd want to skip the souless Limerick altogether and go the county Ballyhoura instead. Over there you'll find this jewel of an hostel: the cleanest, most comfortable and most luxurious I have ever been to. The owners Seamus and Teresa Will go to great lengths to help you and give you fantastic advice on what to do. On their advice I did a 4 hours hike in the mountains and the next days I had a blast mountain biking on the 90 km of traces of the hike center, 7 km from the village. You Will have a blast staying over there and discovering the nature of Ireland. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience at Ballyhoura Hostel. Seamus and Teresa were quick to communicate and get 6 siblings set up in one of their wonderful and comfortable rooms. The common areas of the hostel were very welcoming and the owner actually built most of the hostel himself, which was amazing! We enjoyed seeing the little village of Kilfinnane and wished we could have stayed longer. Would recommend to anyone traveling in small or large parties and I am hoping for a chance to return to do more of the outdoor activities that are possible in the area.

Had a very enjoyable stay here last week on my cycle adventure up to Ballyhoura. Both Seamus and Teresa were very friendly and helpful in suggesting places of interest in the area along with looking after my bicycle during my stay.
Was impressed at the cleanliness and facilities inside the Hostel. Hopeing to return in September with my family and catch up with a few of the 'Characters' in the town, over a few pints in the evening!

Top class hostel. Very comfortable beds, hotel standard linens. Plenty of shower facilities, all spotless. Kitchen that is equipped for every catering possibility. A lovely atmosphere, comfortable sitting room with open fire. Hosts made us feel very welcome and checked to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended.

Custom designed and built by owner, with careful attention to detail and great skill. Everything is clean and tidy as if they just opened the day before. Rooms feel comfy even when filled with other people, nice showers and toilets in abundance.
I loved the common spaces, too, with fire and comfy seatings. Great kitchen and dining room.
And of course, the owners Hard to describe how lovely, careful, attentive, helpful, smiling they were during the whole weekend.
I hope i will come many more times :-)

There aren't even enough words in the whole universe to describe the greatness of this Hostel. You come in and there are clean floors, a warm, welcoming interior, enough showers and toilets, spacious rooms with perfect, wooden beds that have a soft matress you never want to stand up from. And then you meet Teresa and Seamus personally and they're just the nicest persons you might ever meet. And that's not even the end of the story, once you enter the community rooms, you have all a heart could wish for: a piano and guitars (which we used extensively), games over games, a turf fire in the evening, great food (more than anyone could ever eat, made with joy and love and yes, you can taste that!) and even more.
If ever given the chance, I DEFINITELY will come back there.
    12/10 recommendation!

As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're home. Teresa and Seamus treat you as house guests and friends, not customers. Their home is AMAZING and the accommodations were SUPERB; hands down the BEST hostel I've ever stayed in! Everything was super clean, worked well, and very comfortable; the kitchen was both immaculate and well-equipped, the fire was stoked and the sauna was a welcome relief for my travel partner after a long day of driving and hiking. They were very helpful at getting us settled in and had great tips on where and when we could go do some site seeing. Once they learned my travel partner and I dance salsa, they even hooked us up with amazing salsa dancers (thanks again, guys!!!)! Completely unexpected and most welcome surprise, just like this hostel! If your planned activities are within 2 hours driving distance from this hostel, stay here! You won't regret it!
