Great host, great views and we got a fantastic view of the sunset, the breakfast and dinner were very good, the rooms were nice and comfortable. We did the tour of the castle, which is small, but has several things still intact that you do not commonly see in other castles in Ireland. The view from the top is awesome. We had a wonderful stay and would certainly stay again.

Only got a tour because we were staying at the hotel on the site, so I don't if you can tour it otherwise. A very interesting, largely intact 16th century castle. The tour took us through the entire building. The roof and many of the interior floors are gone, but the structural details--floor beam supports, fireplaces, defenses, etc., are there.

An excellent base from which you can explore The Burren and North Clare coastline.
The food is excellent, refined, well presented and very good value.
The service is friendly and efficient - cannot recommend highly enough.

We are back again (for the fourth time in six years). Previous stays demonstrated the excellent service and catering provided by the hosts.

This was one of the most perfect places we stayed on our entire 10 day trip throughout Ireland in July 2013. It was a nice quite location, which just happened to be on a hill overlooking the islands off the cliff, and in the backyard there is just a castle from the 15th century.

The best part was when we arrived after watching the sunset on the cliffs (maybe 10:00pm) we were starving, no food anywhere the lady in charge at the hotel had ham and cheese sandwiches made up. LIVE SAVER, wish I would have remembered her name.

If you are visiting the cliffs spend a night at this place, you will be so happy!
