Honestly this place was below average, and it's getting three stars because of the location - the food and service were pretty crumby, with soup made from what seemed to be gone off vegetables, shockingly badly trained cashiers/counter service and tables that didn't seem to be cleaned once while we were there.

Great coffee and scones. Free WiFi which is very helpful since phone coverage can be patchy. Perfect place for a pitstop on a long cycle.

Delicious scrambled eggs on good brown bread toast c pot of tea €6. Friendly staff. Surrounded by interesting historic buildings. Free WiFi. Don't forget to go upstairs for the excellent historical information boards on the history.
