There isn't any departure lounge to sit down but there is a small food vendor with a few tables (serve cofffe, tea n common Indonesian dishes) You have to wait in your car until the ferry arrives.

The worst ferry service I've had. Bad management mixed with local 'preman' and local officials being prioritized doesn't matter how long you've waited in queue. We were stranded for 4 hours because of these people. It is very sad the fact that this port is one of the very few way to go to Samosir.

It looks as it was back then, nothing much changes. The ferry for cars and trucks is okay, there are trips every an hour. During holiday the harbor will likely get so crowded. Cleanliness is okay, as expected to be found in the country.

There are two harbors, one is for people and motorcycles, the other is for cars. Cars queue is often long, available every three hours, 11.30 / 14.30 / 17.30 / 20.30. All ferries from Ajibata go to Tomok in Samosir Island.

Pada musim musim libur seringkali penumpang mengantri hingga lebih dari 5 jam untuk dapat menyeberang dengan ferri. Biaya penyeberangan untuk mobil mini bus sebesar Rp 106.000,-/mobil dan untuk penumpang di dalam mobil dikenakan biaya Rp 4.000,-/orang. Selain itu, ketika mengantri, ada tukang parkir yang memberikan nomor antrian di mobil kita dengan alasan agar tidak diserobot oleh mobil lain. Nomor antrian tersebut kita bayar seharga Rp 5.000,-. Sebenarnya hal tersebut tidak perlu, sehingga ketika kami mengantri, kami menolak untuk membayar nomor antrian tersebut.

Perjalanan dari Medan melewati Pematang Siantar dengan melalui pelabuhan ajibata bisa memotong waktu tempuh sekitar 2 sampai 3 jam, daripada lewat tele yang harus memutari danau toba.

proses di pelabuhan ini memang membutuhkan kesabaran karna antriannya yang panjang, maknya di sarankan kalau mau menyebrang ke samosir dari pelabuhan ini harus tiba di lokasi minimal 2 jam sebelum kapal datang, pengalaman saya di pelabuhan ini hanya menyebrang menggunakan kapal fery

Worst ferry terminal ever
Antrian bisa sampai 10 jam
Tidak profesional
Ada mobil yg tidak antri bs langsung masuk tidak dikasih nomor antrian
Ditanya alasannya prioritas
Pegawainya lebih galak dr customer padahal kita bayar alasannya perusahaan swasta bukan punya pemerintah jadi kalo ngak suka ngak usah naik.
