We took a surfing class from this company and it was a blast. The lesson was spelled out for us and we were given step by step instructions on how to surf before getting in the water. We had one instructor for 4 students and he gave us all enough attention so we could all get on the board by ourselves. It was a fun day at the beach and in the waves. They even took pictures of us while we were surfing and explained what we could do better in our stance, etc. We would definitely recommend this company if you wanted to get a great lesson in surfing.

Great surf school. The instructors were obviously knowledgeable and passionate about surfing. They created a really great environment to learn in. They provide sun shirts, boards and water all you need to bring is yourself and a bathing costume. There is a photographer who captures all your greatest moments and digital versions of all the picture are available for 100000 rupiah.

Had a great first surf lesson with these guys. Paul and Arie were encouraging and explained things very clearly. The group was split into smaller groups so we were 2-3 per instructor which was nice. Would definitely recommend!

When I was in Bali four years ago I decided to rent a surfboard from some guy on the beach for two hours and just go out. The balance was there from longboarding, so standing up and surfing white water waves worked out okay, but the experience was rough to say the least.
This time I decided to go with a surf school and the choice fell on UP2U, I am super happy that I made that choice. It was way better to learn how to surf in a proper way from their great instructors instead of just paddling around myself.
They were really good at focusing the attention where it was needed. The students in the group that needed help with catching a wave was assisted in doing so, while we who could catch our own waves instead got help to identify good waves to catch and got feedback on things we could improve after each try.
UP2U managed to get me from being clueless about surfing to catching green water waves in three sessions, I am fairly certain that I would not have come even half the way in the same time if I would have tried to learn this by myself. I appreciate that the instructors fast paced me when they saw that I got the hang of the basics quite fast.
Overall there is nothing to complain about, Paul who runs the place is a really great guy and the instructors are awesome. The place itself is quite small but has a nice location close to the beach. Boards and other gear seems to be in really good condition too.response / report this review -

I really loved this surf school. They taught me everything to the complete surfer. Not just how to catch waves but how to ready surf reports, sea conditions, surf etiquette etc.
On top of this they care about your development. If the waves aren't right or if you are too tired they won't send you out or will take you somewhere else. Other schools will just chuck you out whatever the conditions and still take your money.

UP2U is a fantastic surf school which has given me all the tools I need to go out on my own and surf!
I opted for 5 days of lessons, Paul and his team shared their wealth of knowledge whilst also running the classes with safety as their top priority.
The 5 day course also comes with online tutorials which really help to cement these new ideas.
The price is unbelievable for what you recieve, I cannot recommend UP2U more highly!

Great experience learning to surf with up2u. Instructors are very helpful and passionate, always giving you tips and guide to improve.
When for 2 lessons with them and managed to catch small waves in the first lesson itself.
They have a photographer to take photos of you surfing and falling of the board 🤣 which you can purchase.
Paul the shop owner is very friendly and quick to reply to your queries and arranging lessons for us.response / report this review -

Highly recommended - Friendly crew.
First time surfing, we had so much fun. All instructors are passionate about teaching. Special thanks to our instructor Felix, who’s always smiling and make us feel confident riding the waves. There is also a photographer capturing all ours moves and give us feedback to improve.

I have never surfed before signing-up for 5 surf lessons at Up2U. Also, I must admit I am not very confident in water.
The experience was superb for plenty of reasons:
1- The whole team at Up2U is super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I’ve dealt with Paul, Rama and Felix most of the time: those guys rock and know their stuff!
2- The theory part I’ve learned is priceless. Up2U will provide you with some very interesting e-learning that add a lot of value and help you learn faster in a safer way.
3- The school itself is located straight in front of the beach - very handy!
4- lastly their pricing is extremely reasonable, especially once you’ve done the course then you realise you get a huge value for money. I’ve been around other surf schools in Bali but have never seen anything comparable to Up2U.
5- Their photographer is always here to take the best photoshoot.
After 3 lessons I was already surfing some decent waves! 🌊

The place itself is fine - I really liked that they didn't waste too much time on the beach and started really quick in the water. However, the beach and the water are terribly dirty. Not only is it full of plastic trash, there's this brown chemical like foam everywhere (I hope it's not too toxic!!) The instructor was more interested in the two cute German girls who were with me so I got a bit less attention than I could have - but I don't blame him haha

Paul is very knowledgable with concern of safety and Denis is very patient and great in showing the skills.
Two days surfing is super tired for beginner but super awesome with the team. Also, very reasonable price, highly recommend to take class with them.

It was the first time I have tried to Surf. I came for the semi private class with my girlfriend and we loved it.
The staff speaks good English and they are always available to help you and explain the techniques.
We both got to stand on the board on our first class so we are really happy about it.

Surfing with Up2U has been the highlight of our stay in Bali.
As sport-teachers we had many lessons in different sports and we can say that those surf lessons were great. Competent surf teacher always found fantastic surfing spots, depending on the swells. They even organized a trip somewhere else, when the swell in front of the school was not ideal for our skill-level. Along with every lesson, there was some theory.
Compared to other surf schools, they offer best value for money. The package includes the needed material, shirts, board, leash, lockers, shower and a photographer.
We surfed for the first time and were able to catch green waves after a couple of days. We always felt safe and we had soooo much fun.

Of course you can find the cheapest lessons directly on the beach, many many locals sell it every 10 meters. But I was looking for something more professional and safe, and I must say HERE happened to be a great place to do it, driven by experienced and nice teachers, and for very reasonable prices! (I have also checked other surf schools around, with also nice comments! but much higher prices). Me (little experience) and my girlfriend (first time beginner) applied for a couple of days and both of us were really happy of the quality of the teaching, but also of the material and of the clean office. So if you want to try or improve surfing, in my opinion this place is worth of it.

Great for all levels. Beginner class is friendly to various levels of athletic ability. The main instructor Paul is a native English speaker, which helps a lot. The other instructors are solid. I did a couple classes in Hawaii and this was similar at a crazy low price. Paul really makes it work and he treats the class like everyone will surf everyday for the rest of their lives. Great lessons on safety and a primer on understanding the surf report.
