Lived in boarding house at Imam Bonjol street for several years which is very close to this spot, but had visited here once! Being comfortable public site when the weather is nice enough. Typically crowded on Saturday night with clear sky, many teenagers and couples are here spending time and taking photos to post on social media. But when it comes to hot day, no one will dare to stay here or sit. Need some trees or canopy as shelter against direct sunlight.

"De Amsterdam" theme is city area tugu muda Semarang. Nice place history young java and army attack japan. Around tugu muda have many high building and historical "Lawang Sewu"

Tugu Muda is a stone monument in Semarang, Java commemorating the struggle for independence by Indonesian youth. It's easy to visit since it's on the traffic circle (the tall stone monument, not the building in the background).

Usually travellers visit at night to hangout or looking for some food. Located near historical building Lawang Sewu. It is always crowded at weekend or during public holidays.

There is a kind of small pond surrounds the monument. Some benches are available to sit and enjoy the atmosphere of Semarang or interact with the local people. Bit quite here and nice spot to view Lawang Sewu across. The best time for come to this place is at night but I don't recommend you guys to stay overnight here. It's free

Tugu Muda as a landmark of Semarang City. It is also an icon to commemorate the struggle of the people of Semarang during the "Pertempuran Lima Hari" (Five Day Battle). Nice to photograph, with the behind of Tugu Muda is existing Lawang Sewu.

The monument is located in the middle of a roundabout that is also a small park with a pond, some benches to sit on while enjoying the surrounding, particularly as a spot to view the beautiful Lawang Sewu. There's a free drinking fountain, a really cool facility, but I didn't check whether it was still working or not.
