  This is an amazing place and seriously good value. I cannot imagine you'd find better for your money in Ubud. Perfect location in stunning rice fields and away from the roads and hustle. The Samara is a peaceful oasis, and yet still so close to Ubud (especially with the free motorbike shuttle). The staff are just wonderful - a true example of excellence in hospitality (and speaking as someone who used to do a considerable amount of travel journalism). Our 6 night stay at The Samara turned into 11 nights, and staying here was a highlight of our trip to Bali. The hotel caters for special diets too, gluten free vegan included, and breakfast was fantastic.

  Our room is very clean, cozy and overlooks a lush beautiful garden and rice fields. So tranquil and relaxing.

  Lovely resort in the middle of rice fields. Very quiet, you can hear the wildlife at night and see the stars! Super chill atmosphere, great if you need some peace and quiet. It's a ~10-15 mins walk out to the main road. Very friendly and helpful staff who all speak excellent English. When I couldn't find a Go-Jek or Bluebird taxi at 8am, one guy drove me out to the main road to help me find one.

  These rooms are so elegant and unique, with an outdoor shower and cool tile floors you feel right at home the minute you walk in. The staff were so friendly and accomidating!!! We had decided to walk up to the hotel instead of calling them for a ride and we were met with a glass of freshly pressed dragonfruit juice and a cold towel. We were then offered one of the villas by the pool which we took. The staff greeted us everymorning and helped us book our tours and travel arrangements. We took a tour of Bali with Rai as our guide. Rai spoke very good English and taught us about the history of Bali and it's language while showing us what makes Bali so amazing. This place is a must stay on your ubud trip. We were sad to go, but will be coming back again!

  The hotel is located a short walk (20 min) away from Ubud centre but they have a moped shuttle available quite all the time. They also provide you a mobile phone, so that you always can call them when you need e.g. a transport. I loved to stay there, it's a such relaxing atmosphere. Food is great also and they have amazingly friendly staff.

  Nice villa close to nature. For nature lovers it would be one of the best options. Villa restaurant has limited options. No in-house Spa. Staff is soft spoken and helpful.

  We had a wonderful stay at the Samara. The hotel is lovely, really quiet and offer a really Nice view over the rice fields. Restaurant and staff are great. Strongly recommend the samara :)

  Great pool, decent Internet and very friendly staff. Very peaceful. Surrounded by Rice fields. Just a 15 min walk from the main ubud street and restaurants.
