We came for lunch and to spend a few hours around the pool. Restaurant was excellent. View was amazing. Staff very friendly and attentive. Lots of deer and monkeys too.

    DISAPPOINTING!

So much so that we thought it was so important to write a review during dinner..

Two separate guests at our resort had encouraged my finance and I to visit 'the Octagon' for happy hour. Both guests told us they had buy one get one free. After reviewing the menu online (of burgers/nachos/happy hour from 4-8) we decided to rent a vehicle and check it out.

We arrived around 5pm. Strange that in the middle of the national park and all it's serene beauty, a DJ is blasting electronic music from 3-8 on Saturdays and Sundays. So much for seeing any deers during dinner.

When we inquired about happy hour over dinner, the server did not know what we were talking about. We then showed the waitress the happy hour information on octagons website (attachment enclosed) and she was still confused. Then, another waitress came over, we gave her the same shpeel showing her the site and all. She told us they would check with their manager and get back to us however they never did. Instead they went downstairs and ignored us for 15 minutes. Only to have a third male waiter serve us, making the whole experience terribly awkward. Clearly there is a misalignment between the in house menu and happy hour menu online, coupled with our guests experiences, and with our service.

The food is more expensive than other restaurants in Bali but the portions are a decent size and are tasty, even if you find a bug in your dish (attachment enclosed).

Overall it is recommended to drive to 'the Octagon' to see a few monkeys and deer, but do not eat there!

Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was a variety of Indonesian and nearby. Nice dining area by pool, clean and spacious. Nautical themed bar/lounge but with some eclectic side decorations. Nice!

We decided to come here instead of Taman National Park because we heard that it's the same vegetation and wildlife without the entrance fee. On the drive to the restaurant we saw many deer and birds.

The restaurant itself is breathtaking and the service is spectacular. My wife and I took a dip in the infinity pool during sunset and sipped cappuccinos poolside which were very good. For dinner we ordered the nachos for starters and seafood pasta and cordon bleu. The food was good but the pasta was a bit too sweet. The staff were completely gracious and offered to replace the food to our taste. We really felt well taken care of and would highly recommend. Prices are high for Bali but still affordable.

Okay food for high prices. The view is good though. The surrounding forest is very worthwhile to visit (better even than the National Park for which you pay a 200,000 entry fee). I guess the grounds have better dining options but if you skip the national park you can spot the animals for free and splurge on the meal :)

    Beautiful view, nicely designed building
Food a bit pricy but excellent
Heated pool was good, pool water had no taste whatsoever unlike normal pool which was cool
A bit far and the road to here was bumpy
    Good place for photography

Horrific. The West Bali National Park used to be a peaceful place, with only one hotel (The Menjangan) well integrated to the forest and respecting the natural environment. The Octagon together with the Plataran resort destroyed the untouched landscape with huge concrete buildings, with flags and banners.

Big spacious space with great food! I tried the baked mahi-mahi fish and the cereal prawn. Those two are beasts very recommended! Will definitely come back! Good to be here at Octagon Beach Club! We tried for Lunch.
