Beautiful beachfront property on Gili Gede. Highly recommend this place.

Not a 5* resort, but not trying to be. Thamarind has been designed and built by Gili Gede people in an attempt to embrace the tourism industry as its fishing history fades into the past.
An impressive job, evolved over the last couple of years, now with a string of 9 huts for 2 people, and shared facilities, plus 3 en suite bungalows by the beach, and a family home at the back. Given the location, don't expect a casino, aircon, or even reliable wifi, but they do have flushing toilets, running cold water, showers, and some of the most charming staff in the Gilis.
No ATMs on the island, this is one of the few places already taking card payments.response / report this review -

Nice place with good ammount of acconodation options. Good staff, very kind. Nice snorkeling on the acconodation beach, and very nice snorkel tour to nearby gili’s, colourfull corals and fish (watch out for jellyfish though, not dangerous but a bit painfull and when allergic you can get pretty sick). Food is fine, a bit more expensive than the mainland but they have to get everything in on the little boats so it’s a fair deal I guess. Nice eating possibilties nearby too (rumah makan indah, tanjungan bukit lodge). The accomodation has a nice kind of little village vibe as everybody meets during breakfast and diner, and sharing a snorkeling trip is also possible.

Bella posizione, barriera corallina di fronte alla struttura e camere carine. Si potrebbe migliorare il cibo che non soddisfa il rapporto qualità /prezzo. Attrezzatura per snorkeling inclusa, lettini, amache, colazione basic inclusa, canoa a disposizione (ma talvolta pericolosa). Personale cordiale e disponibile.

Right on the beach. Can swim straight out to the reef. Friendly staff. Lovely food. Stayed in a tent for 4 nights which was ace. There are also cabin options. Would highly recommend.
