A nice and cozy place for family vacation. Located by the lake side of Danau Toba at Tuktuk Siadong, offers a lake view from the cottages. Fully furnished cottages with hot water and a pool by the lake.

Such a great experience it was and very value for money. We got the extraordinary stay there for our big group on 23-24 and 26-27 Feb 2018. Keep the good work and consistent with the green environtment.
Warm welcome with genuine smile from the greeter, kind reception, clean room, good view, and friendly restaurant staffs. So homey!
Overall very recommended. Lake Toba is the pearls of North Sumatra and the Tabo Cottages is the diamond of Samosir!

The owner of this hotel puts guests at top priority. This can be clearly seen how they placed the parking lot faraway from the rooms to minimise noise as much as possible. The restaurant serves wide selection of food and they are tasty too! Grasses are well manicured so children can have great time running or rolling on them.

My wife and I started 2 nights at tabo cottage room 1. Couldn't sleep for the first night as we were badly bitten by what we thought were mosquitoes. The staff came into the room to install the volunteer not the next morning. However on the second night we still get bitten and didn't sleep a wink

Next morning we showed the bite marks to our guide the next morning, and he suspects it's bed bugs. Upon returning to our country owe seeing the doctor, it was confirmed to be bed bug bites.

Our stay in Tabo Samosir was marred by the sleepless nights.

The cottage and amenities are nice, but the attitude owe attentiveness of the staff has room for improvement. Such a greeting of guests, taking order at restaurant more promptly etc.

Fantastic views, comfortable open air garden seating next to the lake. Serene peaceful grounds. Dining service took quite long (maybe 30+ min) for 2 meals during what appears like a basically empty restaurant. Food's ok, but wouldn't call it a draw. Food lacks a flavourful punch. Much room for improvement in the eats area. Lovely space though. Worth a shot.

We where ignored while sitting in the restaurant, after 20 minutes waiting decided to eat else where. It didn't look that busy, a greeting was to much seems.

The place is so clean and well-maintained. The room has no AC, but that's ok as the weather was quite cold at night with chilly wind. We also got a welcome cake/bakery in the room which was nice. The food was not bad as there are a lot of options ranging from Indonesian to western food. Massage and water sport service (e.g. banana boat, kayak, jet ski) are also available.

Under German management this place is a real gem. Not exactly the cheapest accommodation for Indonesian standards but well worth every rupiah. The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. It feels like you're making friends here and it is easy to feel at home. Because of Tabo Cottages we ended up staying in Tuk Tuk much longer than originally planned.

    Tabo Cottages, Tuktuk, Samosir island

This cottage had long enough in Tuktuk, Samosir island. Owner and managers is a German named Annette Horschmann. Her husband is a native Samosir from Silalahi clan. Annette has been nearly 30 years of managing this cottage with significant results.

From Ajibata, Parapat, district of Simalungun, we can immediately use a fast boat to Tuktuk. In front of the cottage there's a mooring for a boat, where we can see the front page Tabo cottages fairly spacious with swimming pool and there's also provided shelter for us to enjoy the view off to Lake Toba.

The rooms are available at this lodge, we can start from a VIP-class, standard class with Ac and there's the usual. Everything depends wallet. But nevertheless the rooms were all pleasant.

Menu's available, we can start with a full breakfast European-style with bakery typical Germany or Indonesia menu, particularly the Batak menu that could not be separated from local spices such as Rias and Andaliman.

At night we could relax in the mini bar serving beer and soft drinks. We can relax enjoy listening Tabo home band or singing on Tabo stage.

A cozy, romantic and served by Annette and her husband and their clerks paced and friendly, I just want to suggest this place is worth a visit, especially when we're tired of traveling around the island of Samosir and Batak land.

The food is always fresh and well presented.
My favorite place when staying on Samosir island.

Beautiful location. Staff kept kitchen open late on request for a birthday celebration and manager came out with a gift for the birthday girl.

The grounds are truly beautiful! Although there isn't exactly a swimming "beach" there are concrete steps that make the lake easily accessible.

Also, the food is great! Great German bakery items and a range of local and international food, perfect for vegetarians.
