An alternative place for your family vacation to improve our knowledge about animals and enjoy the green space in SBY concurently. Only pay 15k rupiah you can already enjoy many kind of animals collection. Besides, the zoo located next to historical monument of Surabaya which shows fight between shark and crocodile as the origin of this city's name.

Many things had been improved since my last visit several years back. Its hygine much more better, animals looks great regardless to negative news spread by bad guys, and of course more instagramable which suits these days kids and teenager. Let us save this great zoo together !!

Come with zero expectation and im blown away!!! Not bad at all.. entrance fee is cheap.. so if you heard people saying that this place is bad, then just take it as you got what you paid for 😆 but seriously, this place is OKAY. And the best part is, you dont have to travel far to see animal 😍

The one and only zoo in Surabaya, in the past they have a lot of issues regarding cleanliness and how they treat their animals, but in my recent visits I have discovered that there has been lots of improvement. The place is clean, the animal looked well-kept, and it looks like they are doing a lot of remodelling, overall a great place to visit with your family. Maybe in the future they can add more animals.

Tiket masuk 15 ribu, tiket berupa lembaran yang jadi gelang. Bawalah payung untuk jaga2 kalau hujan atau kepanasan. Ada masjid di dalam, toilet, dan wifi.id. binatangnya banyak, tempat yang cocok untuk rekreasi keluarga. Untuk weekend, parkiran bis penuh dan jauh dari pintu masuk, jadi siap2 untuk jalan kaki.
Seandainya di dalam ada persewaan sepeda atau kursi roda electrik bisa sangat membantu untuk explore lebih lama lagi.

Terakhir main ke KBS (Kebun Binatang Surabaya) waktu TK besar, dan baru kesini lagi pas umur 20 th 😂. Dan sekarang bonbin makin cakep, ya walaupun satwanya ga sebanyak dulu ya gais ..
Enak banget buat kumpul keluarga sekedar piknik kecil kecilan. Tiket masuknya murah syekaliii cuma Rp.15.000,- kalian bisa keliling secapeknyaa..
Jadi masih mau main jauh ? 😁

Ps :. Foto yg aku post ini waktu piknik temen" BEM U akhir bulan Maret 2018. Dan kita makannya di menara yang hitz.. tapi pas abis hujan jadi yaa agak becek 😂. Pas lupa ga bawa tiker.

Surabaya Zoo is one of many places you can set for your holiday at surabaya. The surabaya zoo allow you to see many animals that you can't see in everyday life. Although it has few species shown, but for just having fun and chill with the animals i recommend this place, since it is just got renovated this year

This is a big zoo. Have lots of birds of different varieties much to my delight. Also the care for animals is great here. The working personnel treat the animals very well which I witnessed personally. They maintain the area very well except for one part where they have a water body. They have taken pain to maintain the habitat according to the animal,particular space is kept. It have a large area to walk trust me.

Not bad. The ticket price for entrance is quite cheap only 15k idr and there's alot of attraction inside it such as the aquarium, performance and you can ride the elephant too for a sum less than 20k rp. Alot of animals inside here but dint manage to see the lion and the tiger. The place some of the animals leave really breaks my heart cause all of the animals are not treated equally. I even notice there's short of zookeeper that is maintaining the animals and patrolling the zo. Thier habitat doesn't match them well and even some of the animals rely food from the visitor where you can buy a bunch of peanuts to feed the animals at the entrance of the zoo with cost of only 2.5k per small bunch of peanuts which to be say only like less than 15 peanuts per bunch. Hopefully they can think of an idea to increase the revenue and upgrade the zoo to a much better place and paying more worker cause i can see hope for the zoo as it is big enough than i expected for it to be better

A good place but you'll put your empathy to the animals in the zoo since the zookeeper seems like doesn't feed the animal properly.. :( the water for the turtles is too dirty for them to live in it..

Sekarang sudah berbenah lebih baik, apalagi sekarang daerah akuarium sudah diperbaiki, kebun binatang legend yang pasti didatangi sebuah keluarga hingga generasi ke 3-4, the best show in town.

It has been months and this place still isn't shutdown. There should be action taking towards this inhumane zoo. Killing Tigers fir what?? or any animal for that matter! Exotic ones. There needs to be legal justice and fines for all who work there and own the so called zoo.

How could any of you call this a "nice" place to take the family?!!! The baboons are kept in disgusting habitats and none of the animals have grass or real plants to live in. I read somebody saying people go there to enjoy the "greenery" the only plants are were people walk not were the animals live. This place needs to be closed and professionals need to be brought in to tend to the animals. So sorry for the nieve people who like to go here, and the people who want to see endangered animals. This is not a zoo but a torturous place for animals.

Probably nicest zoo of all of Indonesia. Very well kept. Lots of different kind of animals (monkeys, giraffe, zebra, birds, elephants, crocodiles, tigerswhich also look healthy and well taken care off. Only thing smoking should be prohibited for visitors and employees. I was on my own but a fun place for family and kids. Definitely worth a visit

Wisata tengah kota lumayan murah tapi satwa tidak terlalu lengkap jenisnya, fasilitas dan kebersihan perlu lebih dibenahi. Harga tiket bisa dipertimbangkan naik wajar tetapi dibarengi dengan pemenuhan fasilitas yang lebih baik dan menyenangkan, seperti yang diterapkan beberapa kebun binatang modern yang ada di kota lain di jawa timur.

I haven't gone and I never want to. I could barley watch a video of just pictures of this living hell they can call a "Zoo". Makes me sick. I don't know if anybody would know this, but is it true that they shut down? Also, are you able to call this place? Just wondering because I'd really love to give them a piece of my mind in any way posibble. (Preferable over phone)

I heard a lot of bad things happening here, but when i went there it was ok? I heard that they changed committee who take care of this zoo and hopefully it would be better. Located in the downtown with such a big spac. The animals seem like they're in good condition but still there's so much to be improved here.

DO NOT GO TO THIS "ZOO". The poor, poor animals were starving, it was the most heartbreaking sight I have ever seen. They were begging for food, I had to fight back tears. Not just the bears are deprived of necessities, but all of the other animals too. All the animals seemed malnurished and they would rather be dead than be in this hell. DO NOT GO HERE. They write fake reviews for their zoo saying it's "a great way to learn about animals" but CLEARLY animals in the WILD aren't starving like this. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUISNESS. I say business because they care nothing for their animals. Please do not go here, you will only leave with a broken heart and an anger towards the "owner".

Animals are being starved here!!! Not properly treated or cared for, the cages are sooo tiny and small, no space for the animals to roam around. It's disgusting! Why do people pay to see such a thing? Animals are literally dying here & people still come to this trashy place?! Never again This place needs to be shut down!! This is a bad reflection of their country, they don't care! Stop the abuse, feed your own animals properly, clean up the damn place, make more room for them or just give them to a sanctuary that will love and care for them if you all can not!!

There are so many mistreated and starving animals, eating their own feces and junk food to stay alive, kept in tiny cages There is no vet to care for the hundreds of animals here. Some of these animals and critically endangered and are here, suffering. PLEASE do not support this horrible zoo and do anything you can to shut it down

great! i can see animals here. but maybe some animals seems not happy at all. i saw the little elephant trying to reach grass outside the "cage". i mean, it's a real cage! and i saw the lonely monkey, but he seems happy when peple come near him.

It is not as bad as the review actually. Just try to adjust your visiting time. Don't go on weekend or public holiday or school holiday..just dont. You will see people more than the animals there

Zoo of Surabaya city. It is was very beautiful place to visit, especially for children. But, over this time this place has decrease it's visitors. So, Surabaya government cant maintain some animals, at least the most animals dead.

This has the most disgusting, cruel and abusive conditions than any zoo before. It completely abases the meaning of unity and peace on this earth that we humans are sent here for. We have evolved FROM animals, so why act as if we are superior and treat them so badly? I give my heartfelt apologies and sympathy to those animals- though why should I? The heartless people who started this and carried it on will never repay for what they have done. :(

P.S: I would give this 0 stars but I couldn't so I had to give it one.

The condition of this zoo appears to be very poor. Skinny monkeys with no shade from the sun didnt appear to be having fun. Kangaroo naturall habitat is not a concrete slab. Animals here don't look very happy. The bird cages are small. It is sad to see a place that is cruel to animals. Go to a different tourism object if you dont want to see humiliating painful treatment of animals. With a few million dollars this zoo could be really great.
