A must visit when dining out in bali.
Book a table, and enjoy an evening of impeccable service and first class menu. Was lucky enough to experienced the new Thai inspired menu recently launched and I was not disappointed.
As always the service was 5 star and I can’t wait to go back and sample more of this incredible menu. Please try the open pandan cake for dessert. Highly recommended!
Awesome overall experience. They have a variety of cuisine from across South Asian countries Well presented & delicious. Plus they have a full veg menu as well. All this at good affordable or pricing. 8 of us ate our hearts out with a few beers all for 110 USD!
Best Indian food I’ve ever had. It is more upscale. I came in a tank top and they gave me a shirt to wear. Ha I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys Indian food and a must go for anyone who loves Indian food.
Love Sarong! Thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We’ve come twice already and intend to return once more before leaving. The Kashmiri chicken, tandoori potato, yogurt with pomegranate were all delicious. We have yet to try a dish we don’t love.
I didn’t expect it to be such a classy place so I came in shorts and sneakers! But the staffs are nonetheless welcoming and respectful. Food is mostly Indian cuisine which I enjoyed (which is saying a lot because I don’t normally like Indian food). Price was reasonable for finer dining experience.
Went there after reading the reviews. Not as good as the review. They have a not so friendly door host. But the food is good.
Exceptional Indo-Indian fusion food, great ambience, great service. Surprisingly cool temperature despite the open space design. Book in advance as this place can be full at times.
Initially we got pretty entertained by the bar and the staff that is pretty friendly and smily.
We got our table after 15 minutes, not a very long time considering that it was a busy Saturday night.
The staff was friendly and sweet.
A waiter misunderstood our order and forgot to write down the main 2 dishes.
No problem, we just notified it.
After 2 minutes the manager, who seems to be a very professional and considerate person, came out and sincerely apologized for the lack of communication and he offered a free drink to compensate the inconvenience.
A really nice place to recommend to anyone who is willing to have a nice romantic dinner in the heart of Bali.
Amazing Indian/Asian food on the spicy side. I have never had such amazing Asian deserts. Professional attentive staff. Place to dress up and be seen. A elegant restaurant a little bit noisy for us, but most customers seem to enjoy that. Will certainly be back.
Absolutely 5 star. Great friendly staff and tasty food. Strongly recommend the coconut mojito and pretty much every dish on the menu. Could not stop eating. Went with great friends and tasted many of the dish as we were a big group and was not disappointed with a single bite. Going to be walking this one off for awhile. Was just fantastic, pretty sure my choice of words to express my feeling while eating was that I was having a foodgasm!!!! 😂😂
I had high expectations after seeing the reviews but I was not impressed. First the restaurant is not air conditioned and does not have any breeze, so it is sweltering, like being in a sauna. The toilets have air con and I wished we could have enjoyed the meal there. Further, it's mainly Indian food, and I've had better in much less expensive places. The prawn curry was really 3 over-cooked large prawns with gravy over the top. The dahl makani was our best dish and we've had better. So an attractive restaurant and good service but no air flow so hot and disappointing food.
Stunning Indian Asian fusion dining in a relaxed, atmospheric and high end Balinese decor. Fabulous cocktails. The dining experience belies the fairly basic facade.
An upscale dinner dining area at Seminyak which offers a mixed of Indonesian, Australian and European food. Good dining area if only a bit too dark to my liking. They serve good wine and a bunch of other drinks. Cocktails are good and food servings is a bit small. You can smoke inside near the bar area. Good restaurant overall.
I went to Sarong 4 times in 8 days! Such an incredible menu, lovely staff and beautiful decor. I highly recommend the butter chicken and the cocktails. The staff are very friendly and helpful but be sure to book before!
1. Exeptional food!
2. Very Good Service.
3. Price-level is appropiate.
4. You should definitely give it a try!
Amazing tandoori dish, beautiful and Romaric décor. This on an upscale restaurant with incredibly affordable prices. No AC, but lots of fans throughout this expansive restaurant. Staff is incredibly attentive to patrons. It is outdoors (covered roof). Second time we come back Perfect dinner date. The food is succulent!
Whilst the ambience and the cocktails were great, unfortunately our experience at Sarong left us with food poisoning, ruining our holiday in Bali.
The still water was tap water in a fancy bottle, the top didn’t click when the waitress opened it, and likely wasn’t filtered. This meant a very uncomfortable night with our heads in a garbage bin.
Hard to tell if it was a one off kind of thing, but quite disappointing for a establishment that has such a following.
Amazing ambience and pure fine dining experience.. must take your date or celebrate anniversary with romantic dinner. Price is on a higher end. But the main course taste amazing and the quantity is a lot for two
The indian food here is great but pricey. The ambience is good but a bit too dark. Recommended for a romantic dinner. If you can't reserve a table, try coming they might still have a table for you. But if you got a place in the bar, they can't serve you food until you get a table.
Fantastic food and drink. Cocktail options are well thought out and constructed. The restaurant offers secluded tables for romantic dinners and large tables for group bookings. The food was delicious was thoughtfully created and not standard Indian fare. Highly recommended for a special night out when in Bali. This was our 2nd time visiting and we were just as wowed as the first.
I was impressed with every dish I had here. The soft shell crab, black Cod, beef cheek (must have) and dark tart with orange ice cream were superb! Not to mention the cozy and soft ambience and great service
Amazing. Every dish is wonderful. Staff are very helpful. Our waiter helped guide us through the dishes that weren't too spicy. Very reasonable pricing considering the quality.
What an amazing experience. A group of 8 and we were all amazed at the service. The food was different to anything I have ever had before. So many flavours. Highly recommend. Beware prices are high approx AUD$150 per couple. House red at AUD$55 was superb. Great atmosphere, amazing decor.
We informed Sarong of our allergies a couple of days before our booking however when we arrived they could not be accommodated. Little creativity shown from the kitchen. We we're disappointed and left to eat elsewhere, which is a shame because it is such a lovely setting.
The food was fantastic the staff were really good and the actual restaurant is beautiful can't rate it high enough
Duck was raw, undercooked and hard eat. The service was underwhelming for a place like this. Ambiance was nice but overall food was disappointing.
Great food and superb service. The cuisine is a fusion between South Asian countries. Highly recommended.
this places gives you a dark sophisticate vibe, with low lighting setting the perfect mood with a setting of soft wood furniture and cushions. The food is top quality with delicious delicate flavors. Will return when back in Bali.
We followed recommendations of two friends and came here for our last dinner yesterday. The place is super nice with a cozy and intimate atmosphere, dinner lights, tasteful interior and a lot of greenery.
The food here is excellent and offers informed dishes from Indonesia, India and Thailand. My favorites would be their signature crispy pork belly and the 8 hour slow cooked beef, the most interesting was an Indian infused snapper ceviche.
We finished with the dessert tasting plate which was pure indulgence and a bit too big for the three of us.
I thought the free flow sparkling water was a great idea even though after the main courses the refill intervals grew a bit longer apart.
Service here too we excellent and the staff was not only attentive but also have great recommendations how to choose the course of our meal. Terimakasih for a wonderful evening.
Lovely Indonesian dishes with great ambience. It was darker than I expected though, but the food quality didn't disappoint.
Very difficult to book a place here, it took several days to make a reservation. Nice place with delicious food
Bookings are essential however if your early they may be able to squeeze you in.
The food was one of the best meals I have had in a long time! The butter chicken is a must try along with a refreshing watermelon Mojito.
Make reservations! We didn't have any but were able to eat in the courtyard. The food was amazing. Cocktails were magical. Seriously. Eat here. Heavy Indian influence.
My fifth time dining at this fabulous restaurant. Bookings are essential and must be confirmed one day before, I was always emailed or called to reconfirm. Food is phenomenal- and if you have any dietary needs tell the staff, as they are always happy to honor your request (mine was "less chili"). Our absolute favorite is the crispy pork belly, 8hour pulled beef, Barramundi fish, lamb chop, duck. Desserts - the Pavlova and cucumber mousse - amazing! A memorable culinary experience overall, designed to savor at leisurely pace with a glass of good wine or a cup of excellent tea. Will definitely book for our next trip to Bali.
Posted as the best restaurant on Bali by Trip Advisor. It did not disappoint. Amazing service and the food was spectacular. Well worth a visit.
Beautifully complex flavours and a simply wonderful dining experience. Excellent value. Makes my 'top five' list of memorable dining experiences.
The owner of this restaurant has a wonderful vision for fine dining and incredible attention to detail. The setting, the music, the service; all exceptional. From beginning to end the experience was delightful and highly memorable. The desert menu was the best desert menu I've seen in my life. We couldn't decide!
Make a reservation, and dress up! No exposed shoulders or board shorts for the men. However they will offer a shirt (extra large) should you need it. Honestly, don't get hung up on the rules; the rules create the ambience and you'll appreciate the setting and feel they've created.
Try the vegetarian samosas and the rice tapioca desert! The wine was actually very fairly priced compared to what else is available in town at the supermarkets. The "cheaper" New Zealand wines on the menu come at about 650k, which is what you'd pay for (frankly) inferior wine at the store.
One on the best Balinese restaurants around. We didn't have a reservation, but there was room to sit outside. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Portions were larger than expected, flavors were wonderful, and the ambience was relaxing.
Apparently we missed the memo about making a booking before arriving. The greeter was quick to treat us with disrespect for our lack of knowledge. We asked further questions and were informed that the wait would be one half hour wait. As we were not clear we asked a few more questions to realise she meant one and a half hour wait. Quite a large difference and once we realised this she was unsympathetic and made it clear that we were wasting her time. As a result we left and will not return, it is confusing but not surprising that Bali has become very pretentious.
Loved this place. Stunning decor and huge menu of very traditional dishes.
Most are made for sharing and are on the spicier side so be prepared.
Make sure you book as it is often full.
A very decent place for a nice dinner. Reservation is a must. However the food was a little overrated. We ordered a few dishes and most of them were way too salty. But I've heard good things about its food so maybe I just went on the wrong day.
Sarong Mary is an aquired taste. Food is really good. Fantastic service.
Lovely setting. Really love the presentation of their dishes. It's a feast for both the stomach and the eyes.
The paneer tikka was the best I've had (and I've had a lot!)
As a vegetarian I appreciated the choices available (be sure to ask as there is a separate menu). The food was spicy but just the right amount.
I wasn't amazed by the deserts. Also would say that the roti canai was more like a poori.
We had 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 sides, 2 deserts, 1 cocktail, 1 beer and a small water and it came to about £55 gbp. Definitely worth it given the ambience and standard of food. Would recommend visiting if you are staying in seminyak.
Great looking place with food catered for tourist and expats. The setting is very open, with a nice lushy garden and beautiful decorations. With a variety of dishes from all kinds of Asian countries, there is plenty to chose from. Prices are high end, but so is the service: super friendly and quick. Mixed feelings about the food. The starters we had were absolutely amazing. The Chicken Banjara Kebab unfortunately not to expectations. All in all a very pleasant dining experience.
Excellent in many ways. We had the chicken kebab but it's more like Tandori chicken - tender, juicy and tasty. The starters were excellent as well. Had the pork belly which was crispy and satay. Finally had the fried fish which was done perfectly. Hard to fault, highly recommended.
The food was great but strange service, waiter broke the Cork opening our wine and tried to open it in front of us. Should have at least taken it away. Last entree came aftwr our starters and waiter suggested we cancel one of our mains because it would be too much food, it wasn't. Food that did come was great and cocktails were amazing. I was expecting more from what i had heard and the night was a bit disappointing. Would have been much better with improved front of house staff.
