I have heard so many people's opinion about this school. I have read the reviews here as well. First of all, I am from Turkey; so I believe I have a slightly more objective point-of-view than others in this comment section. I got in Sampoerna Academy Medan in 2017. I did not know English as good as other students. I did not know how to communicate with people as a person who has a completely different cultural background. Even though I could speak some English, I usually did not know what they were talking about. All of the teachers and students, and I mean all of them, helped me get through all of my problems regarding my life as a student in Sampoerna Academy Medan. They respected my values. For example, as a Muslim, when I had to go to pray on Friday, teachers and my friends would, let alone allowing, remind me to go to the prayer when I forget. My English is way better now, and I have picked up useful skills in the Student Council. I have learnt how to play violin with ECA courses. I practiced my table tennis and soccer skills with the facilities this school provides. Although some teachers, as mentioned before, don't have degrees of the subject they teach, they can still teach that subject. I have been in 6 different schools, and I have not seen such a good education system (IGCSE, IB, A-Level) in my entire life. I am grateful that I am a part of Sampoerna community.
i actually hate 90% of the time i spent there as a student up to the point until i graduated. the only highlights there were a few friends i found that weren't as snobbish as the other kids from "better" families. If you get an U (failing mark to the point it's called Ungraded), you still pass the class and get promoted to the next level of your education. :) i've seen some students there with "U"s in every subject and they still pass. and i cannot emphasize how BAD it is as a student there - majority of the kids are snobs, impolite, and have no basic manners. I developed chronic social anxiety, depression and self-destructive behavior from this environment and it still haunts me even after i graduated from there (since 4 years ago). Expensive school fees and big school facilities doesn't mean quality education or quality environment. So for the sake of your child, please don't send them here.
School only want your money. Not care about students. Promote and graduate failing students. When had demonstration from election in May, school not send letter to parents about danger. Only do when parents complain and say that other schools send letters saying no school because worried about safety for children.
Both of my children attending to this school, my daughter loves her teachers and science experiments in her primary 3 science class.
School uses international online assessment tools to measure student achievement and well established Cambridge school with 98% passing score and becoming International Baccalaureate school.
Well done!!!
So grateful to have this school recommended to us years ago! My oldest started there in the ELC program at 2 years old as did the rest of our children and graduated from Kindergarten . We joke that we had another chid years later just to keep on going to the preschool. Sampoerna Academy is such a loving atmosphere with curriuculum that surpases any we had found. Our girls were thoroughly prepared to enter Kindergarten and finish their primary school and they are ready for their secondary education.
I taught here for 2 long years. I was frequently told to change grades so that the children of "better" families would come out first in my subject area. So many spoiled brats winning awards they didn't deserve
Please. If you have the money to send your kids here, you have the money to send them to a better school.

School only wants money. Doesn't care about student. I had an economics class taught by Ms. Gemma, An O level class for Cambridge test. She left in September. School never hired new teacher. We had substitute teachers from September until June - they know nothing of economics so we get no lessons.
School is not well run and most of the teachers are not qualified to teach. Many don't have degrees in the subjects they are teaching. Most o fthe teachers cannot control the students in the classroom, particularly in secondary, and the discipline is sorely lacking. Not a good environment for education.
Average quality for too much money. More interested in making money than helping students. Pass failing students to next level all the time so they keep failing. They have graduated students from JC2 that have failed since primary
I build something here
