The hotel was nice. The staff was great. The bedroom was good. The restaurant was comfy. The buffet meal was pretty good but not the best. The swimming pools were clean but not too big. The bathroom inside the bedroom was rather small. The prayer room for Muslims was small.
This hotel located beside Ambarrukmo Plaza so it's near for you to go shopping or just sight seeing in the mall. The hotel also have a nice batik boutique.

Even I only visited this hotel to enjoy the 'West Eat Asia' buffet, the memories of the hospitality remain. The staffs are kind and helpful. The Royal Restaurant itself is a great place to dine not only by yourself but also with your friends or family.

I hope I can visit this place again soon.

One of the oldest hotel in Yogyakarta, it is nice, clean with the normal facilities of a Hotel. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. Every room has a balcony and nice overall view. Food are good and price is aok. They have 4 restaurants specializing in various cuisines. Located next to Plaza Ambarrukmo, which have Carrefour so you can shop your daily needs there.

My first time visit to this hotel was about 8 year ago. I was impressed with the warm welcome and service quality. Even they sent surprise birthday cake to my room for my boy's second birthday. I became a regular visitor since then. After that the changed the management and all of sudden the service quality drop and I stop visiting them. But last last saturday I start to stay again in this place. I love the service quality better now. The facility is improved

It's really pleasant to stay here. The staffs are all very friendly and quick respond. They also able to handle a large group of people.
All of the rooms has balcony so that makes you feel comfort even more. The bathroom, the bed, and other facility on the room is functioning very well.
The foods and the menu served here is also has good tastes even for large group of people.

Really feel safe to stay here! Just got my phone lost in a couple of minutes but i called the operator to help finding my phone and voila.. they got it! Thank God Alhamdulillah i am so happy how all of this hotel staffs are honest and responsive to case like this. Good job Royal Ambarrukmo! Glad to be back someday!

Flawless, perfect and impeccable. The real high class hotel in Yogyakarta with a lot of amazing features like high class bars, swimming pool, and most importantly classic live music with professional singer and pianist. Really amazing experience!

They show a five star experience. The room is good, the restaurant is good, the garden & the pool is good. I am happy to stayed there and recommend it. It is close to Plaza Ambarrukmo, so you can shop or get your things quite easilly.

a really good place to spend your holiday if you have budget to stay om this hotel. They really serve incredible breakfast with many option and even you stay about 8 days (like me) you won’t be bored withe the menu. Really near plaza ambarrukmo so if you need something you just have to walk about 5 minutes and voila you’re just arrived at the plaza.

One of the best hotel in Jogja. The location is strategic. Close with Ambarrukmo Plaza and just a few minutes to Adisutjipto International Airport. The hotel is not only good for people who have business affairs but also for academics who visit for seminar or other academic affairs around the city.

The new building and management is a much better improvement than the old Ambarukmo. I especially love the meals. You have a whole arrays of selection in the restaurant. Definitely a must-be-visited hotel

We had great time staying at Royal Ambarrukmo, the hotel is kid friendly, even they provide kids corner in the breakfast buffet. We can do several activities in the garden, gym, spa or swimming pool and you can reach mall nearby only by walking. very confining.

Guest room was quite spacious and clean. However, there were issues on leaking water and broken electric kettle, only 2 complimentary bottled water. Breakfast menu varied and was exceptional. Amazing outdoor children's swimming pool. There was a playground too but it was rather dirty. Had a meeting in the morning and an apple and a knife were provided. Sweet! Staffs are friendly too.

A cup of coffee at their coffee shop, or just a short visit at their new cafe will always a memorable moment for me. Also a one stop place for a shopping lover since it's beside Ambarukmo mall and garuda indonesia airlines office also available here, and my favorite batik shop "afif batik". A blend of modern and traditional which will I miss every time.

This hotel is a five-star hotel and located in a strategic spot in Jalan Solo. Next to it is the famous hangout mall in Yogyakarta, Ambarrukmo Plaza. The hotel is so beautiful, comfortable with the combination of modern and natural landscape. The food in this hotel is superb and very delicious.

Although it is a very old hotel, but still very well groomed. Everything already renovated, the room is now modern and very comfortable, the garden and the swimming pool are just perfect. The staff are nice and helpful. The breakfast is so wonderful, I found it as one of the best hotel breakfast in some countries I've ever been. It is located in the centre of the city and next to the best shopping mall in town. The location which is in the same area with the Old Kesultanan Royal Palace makes it more interesting to explore. The price is worth with what you will get. Shortly, visiting Jogja will never be complete without staying here in Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel.

Despite a luxury one, this place is also historicif u stay in this hotel u would feel cultural heritage of Yogyakarta..the room, the foods and the service were excelent! In a smaller city in Indonesia standards are a bit different but this hotel exceeds expectations. Staff was super and the buffet is incredible! There is something for every palate and there is lots. The surrounding area is rather grungy but the hotel and adjacent mall are perfect.

After having a "not so nice experience" a few years ago, we came back to this hotel, mainly because:
1. Seemed like there have been a lot of improvements done since the last time we stayed here.
2. Other hotels that we usually stay when we visit Yogyakarta were fully booked.

Surprisingly, it was a very nice experience.
First of all, it is next to a mall with big supermarket (Carrefour). It is literally just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Traveling with a 3 years old is not always easy, so this is a plus point for us. We could just walk for 5 minutes when we needed to buy some stuff for our daughter.
Secondly, the outdoor playground and fish pond were entertaining for kids. There weren't any other kids when we were at the playground. So it's like having our own playground. The nice gardener also let our daughter feed the fish. She was very happy all along. Having stayed for very long time in Singapore, having big garden at doorstep (though just for 2 days) is a privilege.
Third, and I've mentioned this in my last review, the breakfast spread was awesome. Good percentage of local and international varieties are available. We only tried the local food such as Gudeg (the speciality food from Yogyakarta) though since we can eat Western or other type of food anywhere. They also taste delicious. They even have "jamu" (traditional drink).

The room was spacious, nice and child friendly . We stayed at Executive Suite where it has large living room and bedroom. The bathroom was equipped with Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries. Oh don't forget to lock the balcony door though if you have a young child and could not supervise all the time.

There are 2 swimming pools, one for kids (perhaps only 50 cm deep), and the other one is the big swimming pool. They even provide balls for kids to play with, and also swimming board for those who wants to practice kicking.

Enough for the positive, here are some of improvement the hotel management can do:
1. Indoor playroom is small dirty (we found a dead fly there) and was not interesting at all. However we did not care much as we don't like our daughter playing indoor too much during our holiday.
2. There should be sign for any available attractions including the timing. Our daughter was interested to ride the horse carriage but it was very hot in the afternoon so we thought of going back in the later time. However when we came back we were told that it was only for weekend and up to 4 pm only.
3. Spa menu is limited to body massage only. Located in a corner building, separated from the main building, the ambience is not so relaxing, though not bad, but definitely it could be improved.

One of the best hotel in Yogyakarta, it's located in the Jln. Adisujipto, that connect The airport to Yogyakarta City.
And just in walking distance from Ambarrukmo Plaza.
The room with mountain merapi view is great when you wake-up in the morning.
The Service is great, The food excellent.
Must come back to this hotel again in the future.

One of the best hotel in Yogyakarta, located around 30mins from the airport, and next to Ambarrukmo Plaza Mall. So it can be in the top of your priority of hotel choices.

It's a high-end legendary hotel, and after renovating this hotel offers a greater service, wonderful luxurious rooms. The staffs are also really nice, friendly, welcome and helpful.

One of my favorite thing from this hotel is the cake shop, the cake shop offers you tempting delicious choices of cakes that pleasure both of your eyes and tummy. You really gotta have to try it.

Splendid Hotel, with a nice services. The swimming pool is so clean, and absolutely relaxing. Just a couple second, you can get to Mall Ambarukmo by walk, and near the Hotel you can visit a Keraton Yogyakarta museum :D
