    Great, great place to stay.
Placed in the corner most of Uluwatu, this Hostel / Inn is one of the most fascinating place to stay if you love to hear waves crashing , watching sunset from the convenient sofa in your room, or waking up to fellow surfer getting ready to chase the waves. A few footsteps down and youll be right in the beach.
This inn placed conveniently behind and under Anantara Hotel, through a narrow winding path below where the 'clues' to the inn just placed scattered in the form of license plates. My room is quite spacey, sits atop of a cliff with an outside balcony to enjoy the view.
Other guests are friendly, the inn have WiFi connection, a pool table, a Jacuzzi, and free kayak for all guests, and a motor bike rental for a low price of 60K rupiahs. The Inn Manager, Cristophe, is very friendly and helpful.

Almost impossible to find, stairs are steeper than climbing macchu picchu. No television and the wifi absolutely struggles at the best of times. Not for the average tourist by all means. Thought i was living in the stone age. I will be back!! :D

We booked 3 nights at rock n reef and we only made it through 1. The views are gorgeous and sunsets are breathtaking! A great spot for access to Padang Padang and impossibles surf. The reason we only made it 1 night was because of the lack of air conditioning and the amount of bugs in the bungalows. It was reaching over 95 F everyday in April and the bungalows were not cooling as they have bamboo roofs and holes in the walls in the bathroom. Also, there are giant ants all over the bathrooms and the mosquitoes are bad. The manager didn’t give us our money back for leaving but he did move our room after one night and the room was cooler. There is no pool which is falsely advertised on some websites. Also, my husband got a fish hook stuck in his heel using the outdoor shower. We were OK with this but the 99 stairs (we counted) to get to the hotel are VERY steep and narrow and you only would want to go up twice a day at most! The food from the staff was good and the service was nice to stay right at the hotel to eat. We also loved renting the motor scooters from the hotel and buzzing around Ulu. Expensive stay for really just the view. We would not stay here again.

Excellent place. How to get there is the whole different scenario, at least if easier access is not possible, some lighting will be helpful at night time

The resort here makes you feel like you are in another world. Service is great, food is good and the pieces are awesome. I had a little trouble with all the lizards and bugs but it is to be expected in an "open air" concept. The netting around the bed was helpful but I would not recommend more than a couple of nights here if you are weary of creepy crawlers.

One of those places that you want to keep allllll for your self.
Epic views on the ocean from our balcony. Quiet and clean ocean front hotel. Most rooms have a direct view to the ocean. West facing so you re guaranteed a classic Indo sunset. Food selection, prices, and quantities all on point. The support staff, chefs and management we were all gems.
    Would highly recommend this spot!

Rock n Reef is a little hiding gem, 80's steps down the cliff and you will find this paradise, surrounded by 2 private beach, where you can use free kayak to cruise around this beautiful lagoon.

Rooms are just stunning , ocean view everywhere. (cannot miss the surf !!)
we stayed at Mimpi room, best view for impossible and padang padang surf spot.

Staff is really nice, always care of our needs. Food it's great from breakfast to diner (BBQ seafood is the best).

If you looking for a place to escape of reality Rock n Reef is the place to be.

Perfect location and amazing hotel if you stay in Uluwatu. We stayed only 2 nights with my boyfriend at the end of our balinese trip and we definitely recommend this place. The managers and the staff is are very friendly and helpfull. They will give you good tips if you need to go around. The sunset are the most beautiful ones we've seen in Bali. There are several steps carved into the rock to reach this hotel but this is what makes this place so special and keeps it as a secret and quiet place. Thanks again for your warm welcome Rock and Reef ! Peace and love Ben and Laure

Highly recommend this beach front hotel. We live in the Margaret River region of WA and the beaches here give us a run for our money. We loved our room at the Rock' n Reef, clean, tidy and simple! Literally on the cliff face with the ocean less than 2 meters below during high tide. The staff were amazingly helpful, friendly and understanding. No language barriers here which was great. There's a few steps to climb down to access the hotel but it's definitely worth it! And your legs will thank you later. If you have come to Pecatu to surf, impossibles is right in front of the hotel making it super convenient. To add to the convenience you can paddle to near by Padang Padang or use one of the hotels kayaks for the day.
