14 degrees centigrade and windy. Stay for a night at Desa Moni before heading to the peak to catch the sunrise. Too bad that the thick mist hide all the beauty on the top. You have to have physical ability and willingness to take each staircase up. But all will be paid off when you reach the top. The heavenly beauty of nature.

Outstanding views over the 3 lakes that can be viewed from the top of this mountain. Better to go in the early morning to see the sunrise. Be prepared to wake up around 4, get a ride to Kelimutu and have an easy hike to the top (around 15min). Once there just wait and delight with the sunrise, the lake uncovering it's beautiful mix of colors and the array of mountains covered with mist and clouds.
Don't forget to take a windbreaker with you because at 6 AM on the top of the mountain it is quite chill.

Took roughly 15 minutes to climb, but the view is amazing. Especially on sunrise. The lake's color changes from time to time, so do some research to find the best time to see all the colors.

Amazing scenery. Famous with its 3 colors crater lakes, Kelimutu has become one of the favorite and must visit places in Flores island. The best time to hike to the top of the mountain is at sunrise. You can stay at the closest village called Moni, so you can wake up early to catch the sunrise. It'll take around 10-15 minutes easy hike to the top from the car park. So don't worry, just prepare yourself for the awesome view.

Definitely a place with amazing view. There are two lakes on the east side and one on the west side. Locals believe that dead people's souls will rest on these lakes, and the colour changes depending on these souls. This belief is why visitors are not allowed to stay there past midnight. When I came there, fog was covering the whole place until I could not see the sunrise, but the view after sunrise was still magnificent.

The trek is not difficult, there are stairs for ascending trek. You will need to walk for around 20-30 minutes from the parking lot to reach the summit.

While waiting for sunrise, you can buy hot drinks or cup noodles from the local sellers there. A glass of Milo costed me IDR 20k, pretty expensive but I got the chance to talk with them. They are really friendly and will treat you as family, as they did to me. To show that they already treated me as family, they lend me their traditional clothes for free (while they normally charged visitors who want to wear them)

A very quite place
It takes extra effort to get to the top, but it's all paid off with the beautiful view

Amazing scenery and it's worth the effort to wake up early un the morning to see the sunrise and after walking back to Moni. It takes around 3 hours bit you can see villages, their inhabitants and their diary life. Great experience!

U should go for the sunrise. Be careful it could be cold because it is windy on top but view is awesome.

Amazing view, wonderful lakes, friendly people definitely worth a visit. Suggest to go after 7am as the 3rd lake will be covered by fogs in the morning.
