Pusat textil terbesar di Asia Tenggara. Pasar yang sangat ramai dengan harga yang sangat terjangkau. Banyak pengusaha textile dari luar jakarta terutama luar pulau jawa yang mengambil produk-produk disini dalam jumlah besar untuk dijual kembali di masing-masing kota mereka.
Anda dapat ke sini menaiki kereta komuterline (KRL) dan turun di stasiun Tanah Abang, tapi sangat ramai terutama saat akhir pekan. Stasiun Tanag Abang akan penuh sesak oleh pengunjung.response / report this review -

It got everything about clothes. Most shops only do wholesale n dont do retail but there are areas like 3rd floor and up in A block which do retail. They close pretty early like around 4-5pm. N its not a place for you if u want to do a quick shopping. The place is so big n can be tricky for first time goer. Little tips though, bring your own water. Once u are in, its all clothes unless u want to go all the way to the foodcourt.

If you can match in a war of wits to bargain and want to buy by the dozen, this is the place to be. Tanah Abang (Gold Ground) is the clearing market for every textile and trinket made in Indonesia. Every floor has its own speciality and the enormous facility splits across the road. One side is retail and the other side is wholesale.
Its not a comfortable place to shop although there are a lot of escalators and elevators and some areas are more air conditioned than others.
The plethora of products and cheap prices will blow your mind. I guarantee it!response / report this review -

It comeback crowd again. Trush everywhere outside. So many cars stuck along street. But actually it's nice place to shopping although crowd inside too. There are 12 floors, each floor based on their category such as bag and shoes floor, fashion floor, moeslem clothes floor, etc.

The biggest textile market in Indonesia, you could find batik, Muslim wear,etc. Suitable for wholesaler since buy large quantity, cheaper price. Most of the day this place is traffic jam, better used public transportation to go to here.

The biggest fashion groceries market in Southeast Asia, so no wonder if the place are crowded. Separated in many big buildings, so make sure you know where you want to go. The price are various, from the cheap one to the most expensive (million rupiahs), so you have many options.

recommended place to buy modest clothes. i find many stores selling distinctive design. if you are into wearing fashionable modest clothes, I guess you can try this place. but in my experience, one day is not enough to know this place by heart because it is so massive. you tend to be lost here, unless you employ a strategy to remember the blocks, the store numbers, the alleys.

Road access to this place at weekend can be a real pain! Just come early in the morning if you don't want to get trapped in neverending traffic jam and also some seller close their store after lunch time. It's very not recommended to come here by car unless you are a wholesaler or want to bulk-buying clothes.

One of the cheapest place to buy clothing stuff in Jakarta. But you're going to hate the traffic around the building, especially in afternoon. So you need to get out from there before 3PM!

This is heaven for textiles.
Ready made clothing like batik, office wear, head gears, muslim prayer accessories, modern wear, wedding accessories etc.
You name it, almost everything is here.
There more than 8 floors of merchandise per block.
There are a few blocks namely A, B, etc. All interconnected.
Each floor has hundreds of shops.
You can become very tired walking here and lose your ability to make judgement.
Everything can be so cheap and there are countless number of choices.
Along the way here people are selling boxes.

This shopping mall is a great place to see textiles and lots of (mostly Muslim oriented) traditional clothing, as well as Western brands if that's what you're looking for The mall is *huge* and even after two hours, I don't think I saw everything. I bought a batik sarung and some kind of skirt (for my fiancee) and a lightweight backpack. I ended up haggling the price down quite a bit for every purchase. There is an ATM in the front entrance.

It is very recomended for every merchant, up to date collection, lower price for wholesale. But be careful of pickpocket and get ready for a very long take a walk in the market. It's food corner has so many choice of meal yet comfort, and you can pray in a homey mosque at the top floor
