  Traditional market of Wamena. This market is crowded and scorching due to an open field, without roof.
  You can find many variety of vegetables and fruits with affordable price.
  Do not forget to buy Bokondini's pineapple. The best and sweet original pineapple ever ;)

  The smallest and least developed of Wamena's four farmer's markets, this is my first choice for fresh vegetables. Also good for tourists.

  Tourists will enjoy seeing the men in Kotekas selling tabacco and crafts (in the back, southwest side), and ladies selling nokens. The vegetable prices are equal to the larger markets, and cheaper than the market in the center of town. However, the price for souvenirs may be higher than what a tourist can get at a shop, unless they are an excellent bargainer.
  While the vegetable selection is limited, there's always staples like tofu, tempeh, frozen chicken and so on in the surrounding shops, and the most common vegetables, plus firewood, are sold by the local Papuan women in the center. The main market area is still dirt with only a few concrete pads, so it may be muddy after rain, but that's part of the fun.
  Be aware, all Wamena markets are closed on Sundays! Mayor's orders.
