It is an old market and pretty iconic for medan city. I can't say it is clean, typical for Indonesian market, but and I can say that you can get everything around here, especially for something that related to fabric and textile. On top of the market they gather a round of tailor from medan. I wonder how they compete to each other and stay in profit. Top of market ( on the different side ) is a thrift store ( related to clothes and shoes). On the outside of the market, you can find a lot of vendors/stalls that sells you snacks, munchies or even dishes that originated from medan. On the bottom of the market, they sell dress groceries, meat, fishes on every morning.

Complete place to get anything. From gold to underwear, from new dress to secondhand shoes. From cosmetics to kebaya's tailors. Be a smart buyer by always bargain 50% of its offered price. Seller sometimes tricky.

A market. Where u can find almost anything here. At the basement you can find meats, seafood, vegetables, fruits, and common food in medan. On the 1st floor u can find gold store, clothes store, snacks, etc. And on the second floor u can search for 2nd handed stuff. They also have food court here. And it was air condioner at some particular area.

The market presents itself in a way that a traditional one would always do. Damp, crowded and robust with malignant odor anywhere you point your nose at.
The redeeming value lies in the assortment of establishment providing various types of food, both oriental and local in taste.
One could find the atmosphere of an old Singaporean chinatown with all the delicacies famous in Medan.
Be wary of the scant parking spaces though, one could expect to traverse muddied road and scattered trash going from their car to the market proper.

The place isn't well maintained and very dirty 👎

This is not really a market literally.
There are hundreds of shops selling clothing of all sorts. They are cramped with small path in between.
It covers a huge area almost half of a football pitch.
Outside the perimeter of the shops are food stalls dispersed all over. Some across the road.
Then there is a parking lot beneath the shops.
Lower ground you can say.
It is here you will find the market. Poultry, meat, fish and dry kitchen items.
Some motorcycles will just pass in the market.
The roads around this place are bad with pot holes.
When it rains you can see ditches everywhere.
Down under, the market is dark.
It is in the process of moving to another place.

The place to buy clothes and stuff. My mom loves to shop and I love to taste some local food in here. Bubur sumsum, bakso, pecal, sate, es campur, manisan and other local foods are being sold here. The parking area is very crowded on the evening and especially on the weekends.

This is a Traditional Market in the centre of Medan. If you're looking for a authentic experience of Medan, this is the place. What I loved about this place is, there's one shop that sold all kind of Traditional Ices with a lot of variances. Also, there's a Manisan Shop near parking lot.
