As one of the Indonesian Seven Summits make this mountain as a must-hike mountain by many Indonesian moutaineer. Most of hikers are spent 2 day and 1 night here.
Went here on early Dec. 2017 and it was an amazing hiking trip! To get here, one can starts from Makassar and ride to Baraka which takes up to 7 hours by a car. It takes another 2 hours to get to Karangan village (basecamp) by a Hardtop Jeep. If you prefer to stay for one night, you can stay at Ambe Simen's house or Village Chief's house.
Before the hiking, don't forget to register at registration shelter. There are 7 checkpoint on this hiking trip. On averange, it takes 60 - 90 mins to get to each checkpoint and the tracks are quite challenging. On summit attack, it takes 90 - 120 mins to reach peak Rantemario. Checkpoint #2, #5, and #7 are the ideal place to camp because the camping ground is steep and there's a spring water nearby.response / report this review -

5 of 5 mountain! It's bearing 1 of the 7 summit not without a reason. But worth it. It's better to find how to get here and how's the trek. Because very few information we can get online. And the last village is remote.
