the airport facilities need an upgrade, lots of spaces are left vacant. lucky garuda indonesia has already open their lounge here, adds a bit vibe to this aging airport. good news is the airport railway lines will be available in not so distant future, improving its accessibility from the city.
Pros: clean, nice people, prayer call, wifi, easy check-in
Cons: waiting room could be bigger, not many food stalls options
I'd gladly visit Padang again.
International airport in Padang city. The food options are not too much. Should prepare the foods before going to airport
One of the least accessible airport I've visited. You can catch a bus, a minibus, or a taxi from this airport to the city center, but your options will be far more limited when your trip is the other way around. Despite its international status, this airport does not offer much
Not a bad little airport. TSA not really paying much attention. Seems like there is only one terminal. Fast easy check in. Porters are pretty aggressive throughout Padang and here, too, but no big complaints with this airport.
This place is an ok thing in my list. Nothing special, no speciap lounge, the toilet sanitary is terrible. The kidz zone more like a drit trap than a kids play zone. No food counter in the waiting room, only vending sellin drinks. What do you expect?
A small airport catering Padang and Bukit Tinggi mostly.
Damri bus takes 45 mins to arrive here from Padang (Rp 23,500).
Many shops and eateries.
Ample parking space.
However there is no free wifi.
You can smell cigarette stench inside and the door of the smoking room at gate 6 is not closed.
not crowded and good place. But there is no baggage storage and no announce of flight number in baggage rails sometimes
This airport is different than majority, it has adzan calls when maghrib time through their announcement speaker, very nice. The food resto was too expensive compared to other airport, I was shocked and deceived!
We do self check in but the woman in security check still asking us for print the boarding pass from counter, we even didn't have luggages to put. Really bad service!!!
The service quality is degrading, restrooms are the worst in all the airports I've ever been. It's also one of the most crowded airport.
The waiting room is often crowded so some people are standing or sitting on the floor.
Edit : They upgraded the waiting room a little (+1)
Waiting room very small, too long wating for baggage at domestic arrival terminal. Some toilet very dirty and can not use.
The main airport in western Sumatra, is located in Pariaman District. Although small but the airport is clean, orderly and has complete facilities. Unique this airport has a typical building architecture Minangkabau traditional house.
Airport free wifi just for 15 minutes. But there's flashzone-seamless, free wifi and fast enough but for Telkomsel carrier only. Sadly, it keep getting disconnected for several times.
At first I underestimated this airport for some unknown reasons. Infrastructure-wise, this is a decent international airport that require more English-speaking staffs. The porters are quite rude, especially if you're a female solo traveler. Just be kind and firm at the same time. The departure terminal is disappointing compared to the arrivals. What I liked about this airport is that this airport totally screams "Padang" and I get the Minang vibe from the roof structure.
My entry and exit point in Padang (to/fro Jakarta) is this airport. It's a small airport but I love the architecture as it reflects the traditional rooftops of the Minangkabaus. The some staff couldn't speak English but i was able to speak to a lady staff who was fluent.
Porters seem uneducated and they're extremely racist.
I didn't want to use their service and they started talking bad things behind my back. (I nicely refused their offer)
They didn't realize that i can speak fluently in 4 different languages including Indonesian and Minang.
Such a bad experience
Tsk tsk!
When it is entitled as an international airport, all staffs involved must be able to speak foreign language minimum English. Yet, it is clearly seen that it is not there. No clear guidelines for porters and other staffs as well in supporting the passengers in taking the luggage. Most of the staffs are busy talking to their colleagues in their working hour. It is also not a sterilized airport from those who actively offering car services, taxi in an illegal form, applying one sided price without any meter. The restrooms are so lousy, even the bad smell can be sensed from a distance. The airport management must really pay a good and concrete attention, or else, just be a local airport and receive less people since more and more passengers are dissappointed with its whole package service
