One of a better choice transportation to reach Mentawai Island. It's takes about 3 hours from Muara harbour in Padang to Mentawai. Great adventure 😃😃

Good schedule, nice facilities, helpint staff, and the owner was really kind when I contacted him for a research trip and even refer me a guide. The boat itself has around 100 seat - ish? And the back is an open smoking area with 2 restrooms. They give you snacks (bread) and mineral water during the first trip. It takes about 4 hours to cross from Padang to Siberut. Anyway, thank you so much for all the help!

Actually not a bad ride to get to the islands. Pretty much what to expect with an Indonesian fast boat service. Basically, a company that knows it has enough business not to care about passengers so happy to give it the appropriate rating.
Staff spoke Sumatran rather than Bahasa to my girlfriend just to snub her. They would move a hotshot passenger that was in our booked seats and the guy acted like a smug douche bag about it. Can’t get away from the cigarette smoke. Life jackets not easily accessible. Chaos at boarding and disembarkment. Sometimes that kind of stuff is part of the fun and adventure of travel in developing countries, but that doesn’t mean they deserve anything more than a one star review.
Down below, in the nice seats that you pre-book, there is no smoking,but the door to the captain is right in front and they keep it slightly open so the captain and crews cigarette smoke gets filtered out into the passenger area. It made my girlfriend sick. That’s the only thing that really bothered me. Thoughtlss crew.

Boat is on time, and fast! Only took 3 hrs to get to Tua Pejat. You can choose between ferry or airplane to get to Mentawai, but Mentawai Fast definitely the best option.
Ferry took all night, plane definitely the fastest (1 hour) but when you landed on thw Mentawai Airport it's a little difficult to get anywhere from there.response / report this review -
